TRE

I just got a "TRE" and to my surprise it appears to do nothing more than cancel out a wire. It appears to cancel out the "pink" wire on the connector and nothing else.

Can someone tell me if this is correct? If this is the case, then why in the world would anyone waist there money on something to "cut" a wire.

Either I have learned a lesson or got the wrong thing.

Most add a resistor. And yes it's very simple.

Most TRE's will 'insert' a 6.8K ohm resistor on the Gear Position Sensor - fooling the ECU to think it's always in 5th gear.

Have you noticed a change in performance? If not, take it off unless you plan on breaking 10,500 rpm in 6th gear. I noticed a change with mine, but if you haven't then there's really no point in having it.
