So after 7 months of having a shorty gp pipe on and losing 8.3% hearing in my right ear I decided to splurge a bit so I'm also part of the arata family now. Must say still quite loud but much deeper tone

Looking forward to seeing pictures with the new exhaust mounted on the bike.

Wear earplugs to save the rest of your hearing, I never ride without earplugs.

I love the sporty sound of louder bikes. I thought long and hard about cutting down my muffer. But, after a day in the saddle, a reasonable DB is appreciated.

I modded a set of OEM cans for my Busa and the sound is terrific but I took them on a short tour (3-4 states) and the droning sound really got to me. The sound also encouraged me to accelerate more and to keep it in the lower gears. Great for day cruising especially in the corners but just not for long tours. BTW it dynoed 5 HP less.

You can cut off 4"-6", which is very noticeable looking at it, and it really won't be any louder, the tone will change, it will be deeper, but it won't be intolerable...and I have shortened alot of mufflers, and prefer them quiet.
Does your muffler have the quiet insert in the tip?
