The wifey and I are planning a trip this spring and are thinking of touring Tennessee on our bikes. Would anyone happen to know of some routes that would allow for some beautiful scenery and some great stops along the way?

White water rafting!!! I can't remember the river, its in south Tenessee. Its a blast!!

hmm.. there is a little place called deals gap (aka "the dragon") you may wanna hit. Look south of knoxville. http://www.tailofthedragon.com

also rt 421 between mountain city, and bristol should be a priority.
also check here..

may as well come on into virginia about 20 miles and hit route 16 between marion, and tazewell virginia.

when you guys get something planned out give me a shout and I'll bring the wifey along and I'll give ya the .50 cent tour of the best roads I know around here.

I live about an hour from the Tennessee line. 50 minutes from Bristol.

You might think about Northwest Arkansas..Less cops, great roads, friendly people, we prefer that area over Tenn,Ga for riding...

The mountains of East Tennessee offer the most interesting and scenic rides in the state. Deal's Gap Highway 129 is a must-see/must-do experience with many worthwhile destinations nearby--Gatlinburg, Fontana, Cherokee, Dollywood, etc. Also, I-40 between Knoxville and Ashville (NC) has many "sweepers" that keep your attention and Ashville is a great place to stay overnight.

Yep ton to do in the smokey mountains. Cherahola skyway, and blueridge parkway, are one of the nicest rides I have ever been on. Gatlinburgh is loaded with tourist stuff. Nice places all of them. Fontana dam is awesome, so much to do and see in that area its rediculous. And the gap.... WOW, plenty of entertainment there.

Another vote for the Blueridge Parkway. If you go to Deals Gap try and hit it during the week....less squids to deal with.

There is a motorcycle only campground in the north Georgia mountains not too far from the skyway and Deals Gap: http://www.twowheelsonly.com/

Yes that whole area is very nice to ride and enjoy. All the way down to Kingsport TN, Johnson City and Cosby area. Ashville is a great town and has lots of sites.

Don't do the eastern portion of the state...West TN has some great area to tour then there's always Memphis...You have Shiloh National Park in the southwest and Pickwick Dam is close by...If you travel to the western portion you can also ride down to Tunica, MS casino and resort area about 40 miles south of Memphis...Any back country road is gonna give you tons of interesting sites...

There is a really good place in North West Georgia called Suches, There is a resturaunt there called T.W.O (two wheels only) its kinda cool , it s an old farm house turned into resturaunt. I actually prefer going there as opposed to the dragon, The trip starts on Hwy 60 and then its 30 miles of good fun curves and thats just to get to suches, then once there, you can ride the "loop" atop blood mountain. but anyway its alot of fun

sounds good,, and RE: blue ridge parkway.. if you do it... do the speedlimit.. they are everywhere and you WILL get pulled over. oh, and it's 45 some places and I think 30 in others.. I thought the first 30 minutes were cool.. the other 6 hours sucked ass.

if you like extreme touring at it's boringest be sure and hit the parkway.. if not... there are much better roads to run.

all are good suggestions as i live in upper east tennessee and have cruised these roads many times.lots of scenic beauty from blue ridge parkway or hwy421 down to gatlinburg into the cherokee national forest.wife will find plenty of shopping in gatlinburg and pigeon forge.ive never rode the dragons spine yet but ive been told there are over 200 curves in an 11 mile stretch.if you get a chance hop over to lake lure at chimney rock in north carolina, nice place to hang out and see several hundred bikes.
