Dynos aren't set into any format. It's the software that you can view the graph in any format. We use STD in this town because everyone else in this town use that as well and we've ran into people complaining about how dynos were a little lower than others in town so we just went to STD.I've heard dynos in STD format have overstated numbers.. Much more accurate with SAE smoothing 5 software.
SAE smoothing 5 is a mode of operation, not software. The software does not make the dyno accurate, the conditions and the dyno itself determine accuracy. STD #'s are perfectly fine, just make sure you only compare them to other STD results and take into account the varying conditional changes. SAE numbers are simply corrected to equate those varying conditions. Saying "much more accurate with SAE smoothing 5 software", is like saying it would be much more accurate if you only used yellow paper. Nothing to do with actual accuracy.I've heard dynos in STD format have overstated numbers.. Much more accurate with SAE smoothing 5 software.

Now when we have a customer from this board get a dyno from us we'll give them a print out of SAE.
We supply dyno graph figures in any format at the customers request.
Well not every bike is going to dyno the same. I've seen bikes dyno really low, and really high. It just depends on a lot of things. Bikes are tuned by different people as well.I'm just surprised to see the inconsistancy in dyno readings from region to region.....
Zoom in and look at the air pressure the day mine was done.... That's 6000'+ altitude... 172hp Is awesome here.I'm just surprised to see the inconsistancy in dyno readings from region to region.....
