Tuning

I recently bought a 2002 and after riding it up the east coast from Ft Lauderdale FLA to Up state NY last month I got to know this bike well. It deffinatly does not run 100% right. With only about 4 K Mi on it I doubt that the Valves need adjustment. Due to the fact that it is Fuel injected I am out of the loop as far as a tuner (In the old days it was a carb sink tool new plugs and a swift kick and I was off at the races).
I am in the Seattle area and I am looking for a Killer tuner (with the right tools) in this area. The bike runs a little rough on the bottom end. Don't get me wrong, Open her up and look out! But I know there is more to be had.

It's still Carb Sync, err Throttle body sync

New plugs. Only thing extra is Fuel injector cleaner gas treatment once in while.
Syncing the throttle body is very touchy compared to carbs. It might be I was used to small displacement engine. Done the same way tho.

It might also be something that a TRE might smooth out. If your only noticing it in the first few gears anyway. The Timing Retard Eliminator removes Suzuki's bit of babysitting (Retarded timing down low.) Suzuki does this to soften the power down low so we don't hurt ourselves I guess. Anyhoo, end result is sorta sloppy throttle response. I cranked up my idle a bit, to 1200 RPMs and that actually made a small difference in the off/on throttle jerkiness.

From folks that have installed a TRE, they do report better fueling and response down low so there it is... BUT personally I am avoiding a TRE because it accomplishes this Retard defeat via tricking the CPU into thinking it's always in Fifth gear and uses only the fifth gear Map. Now I am not an engineer but damnit, if Suzuki wen't to the trouble of adding a 32 bit processor loaded with different maps based on throttle position and gear? Maybe running around with it thinking it's in fifth all day isn't the best solution. SO, there are "Switchable" TRE's out there that you can turn on or off avoiding any hard starting or other potential issues with a conventional TRE...

FWIW

Any thought on the "Smart TRE" from Snitz? I have heard a few things about them, but I'd like to know the real stuff! Thanks.
