Turbo Anyone?

theres a couple of people doing something now. the last one i heard of is one that bill hahn is going to do for my friend. there all going to be interesting because you have to degree the timing with a turbo. it will be the same problem as the guy's that want to spray. we'll see how it goes..

Hey Frank and Bob, With keeping of the FI in your opinion what would a person have to do to get about 200BHP out of their bike. I know a turbo charger would do it. I am not as mechanical as you guys are I usually take it to the shop and have them work on it, unfortunately nobody in my area knows much about Hayabusa's. I want to supply them with all the goodies that work and have them do the dirty work.

Thanks,
Turtle

1. Nitrous, a bit tricky though. Bring it to a shop that is known, and has done it before with good result.
2. Cam, head work, probably bump the compression through shaving head. But, I think injector change may be needed. The power commander may be enough to increase fuel delivery. Otherwise you will need to trash the stock ECM for an aftermarket injection box.
If you want to leave things internal to the engine pretty much as is, 200 HP is tough goal.
Call the expert shops. I do not claim to be a high perf. motorcycle engine builder. Auto's I'm not bad and know where to go and what to do. Bikes I'm learning like alot of others. Yoshimura has claimed to reach this 200 hp mark with a Busa with stock pistons. but, I believe they changed cams, fuel injection, removed the counterbalancer, etc.
If you have the cash you can get it. Hang in there, others are doing things now. I think Frank gets his back this weekend. His has more than a little work done to it though.
If you get there let us know. I am sure others more geared to true high performance on this site can help.

I figure 4mm over pistons,1mm over valves, good cams, good port job,I personally would use 13.5 to 1 pistons..not a every day bike though...would probably make 210-225 HP...that is a good guess...then you get into trying to get it on the ground...franks long swingarm etc....in the end you may have to ditch the injection...thats why I have not gone any farther at this point...I hate being the guinea pig...my main concern is if the stock rods will take it.

2mm over JE pistons some port work on the head, with the stock valves will get you very close to the 200hp range. 12 to 1600 dollars. complete...e-mail me for more info..

Kawabuser--Your right i just read the article in August Cycle World again.
180 rwhp--lose the counter balancer, stage 1 camshafts, self-adjusting Motec fuel injection, yosh full exhaust.
200rwhp--Head work, high compression pistons, and new injectors.
