Turbo charger question

I have a question. Someone yesterday suggested that I put a turbocharger on my busa. I acted like I knew what it was but I have no idea what it is. Can someone tell me what this is and what it does?

A turbocharger (turbo) is a form of forced induction used on vehicles to improve performance. It uses the exhaust to spin a wheel to force air into the engine. It is not recommended for novices, especially on a bike. And no offense, but if you don't know what a turbo is, I wouldn't be putting one on my bike

Gives ya another 80ish HP depending on the setup. Makes it SUPER easy to kill yourself. Cost around $5k

lol if you don't know what it is, you should definetly stay away from it.

From Wikipedia-
A turbocharger, or turbo, is a gas compressor used for forced induction of an internal combustion engine. A form of supercharger, the turbocharger increases the pressure of air entering the engine to create more power. A turbocharger has the compressor powered by a turbine which is driven by the engine's own exhaust gases rather than direct mechanical drive. This allows a turbocharger to achieve a higher degree of efficiency than other types of forced induction compressors which are more vulnerable to parasitic loss.

Simple  , it's a very expensive AIR PUMP that gives you 50 to 100 % more hp depending on the air pressure (more air = more power), compression and fuel you use. They can be very adaptable to the street (lower levels like a 25 to 50% increase) or astronomical rates like up to 350 HP or more for the drag strip only ! Unless you just want one, it's really useless for the street. Just Braging rights and VERY EXPENSIVE. I mean on the street your busa can do 0-60 mph in 2.6 sec., 60 to 100 mph in 2.3 sec., stock. The question is CAN YOU ! If not, until you can, you really don't need anymore power :beerchug:

80hp is the hp gain if you simply bolt on the kit to a stock engine. Its kinda like the entry level point. 80-300hp is a very reachable mark.
