Turbo vs. NA mods

I recently just bought a busa and always thought a turbo busa is as sick as it gets. I have always been into turbo cars. I was building a 700whp civic but parted it out to get the bike. Is boosting a bike much different from a car? Do you guys think i should just do the usual intake, exhaust, pcIII, and sprockets or go boost? If i do go boost i want to save myself money so ill piece a kit together. How hard is it to find parts?

I live near MIR (maryland international raceway) which is one of the nicest 1/4 mile tracks on the east coast so i will eventually want to race the busa but it will mainly be used as a daily driver. Let me hear some opinions.

If you are close to MIR you should go there and speak with Jason Miller ( I believe his dad owns the track) he is an exceptional drag racer and has been about 7.75 in the quater on his near stock length Turbo Busa.

Jason can go over the stuff you would want and might even have a line on some parts for you from some of his earlier builds?

Good luck, personally once you ride a good running well build Turbo bike you will never want to switch back..

Well said john.
Wait to boost it and save yourself the money in mods you will soon grow tired of.Based on your post the n/a mods will not do it for you.Would also do you good to get used to the bikes ride qualities before turbo, this way you are at home on the bike once you go turbo. You also might want to get a full kit which makes for a simple bolt-on no brainer.
Oh yeah and :welcome: :beerchug:

I was about to do a engine build up complete with carillo rods, 1397, cams, headwork, new bearings, oil pump gear. Final cost would of been $6500 and that would of put me around 215hp. Then I would have to deal with heat issues with simple city driving, 24v starting system, high octane all the time.

After taking a lot of time comparing it to a RCC stage I kit for $4200 that can get me in the neighborhood of 230 easily and easy starting, no city driving overheating issues I decided this morning to order my RCC kit.

I really liked the idea of a built motor but here in this hot desert with Summer temp staying about 100F at night I think it would of been a headache for me and I would not have rode the Busa as much as I do now.

Yea that what i was thinkin about the NA mods. I didnt want to spend somewhere around $1500 in NA stuff and then later on want boost. I know some people on here have installed the turbo kits thereselves. How hard or easy was it? I just imagine everything is a tight fit.

relative easy to install if u have built cars u can put one on a bike

^ Good thats what i wanted to hear. So from reading on the forum i can guess the RCC kit is one of the best. Are there any reputable shops in maryland to tune?
