Well went for a ride today..or should I say attempted to go for a ride. Met up with a few buddies in Carbondale, went by some other guys house picked a couple of other bikes...Getting ready to go riding to Cape Giradeau...

Started on our way out of town got on it kinda hard in first and brought the front wheel up a little and bam Then I hear the engine rev real high and the bike dropped down real fast....So I'm like what the fugg.

Well so happens my chain fell off, well it didn't just fall off...it fell the fugg off.

Well basically what I can see is that the master somehow came undone and what I figure is when it popped it was at the front sprocket and hit the tranny case and put a quarter sized hole in it. I'M REAL FRIGGING HAPPY RIGHT NOW.

Then to make the matter even better, I had the chain installed by Yamaha of Southern Illinois...So I'm pretty upset, I call them..and basically told them, "Hey you guys need to come pick up my bike asap and fix whatever is broke....Because you know I am kinda sitting on the side of the road". The guy is service tells me that they never changed my chain and says sorry real sarcastically...So I said well what the hell am I supposed to do. here is where my patience went out the window.

He SAYS, "WELL MAN, IT'S A NICE DAY PUSH IT HOME", and starts laughing. I flew off the handle. Then I cussed him out for a while and I guess he got the owner. Well you know owners. He tried to calm me down by telling me he wasn't laughing he was clearing his throat.

Ohh it gets better, I never received a receipt from them doing the work, And I didn't pay at the counter so they say I was never there. I can't really prove that I was there either so...Any Advice?

If any of you guys work there....Sorry but you suck. And me and my friends will onger do business EVER agin with you.

So here I am brand new paint, new sprocket, back tire, new chain(sorta) and can't ride.

If I didn't have bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all

Ow yeah enclosed are a couple of pics of the new paint.

If any of you guys got any ideas....I am very well open for advice right now?? Hold on knock at the door.

Cool got my GPS in the mail today(pics enclosed)...Another thing I cannot enjoy for awhile.

Alright I'm done venting, not really but this post is gonna be about 3 pages long.

I forgot to ask does anybody have an extra masterlink for an RK X-ring chain.

John

man that sucks... it pays to get receipts on stuff. Especially a list of work they did. Not much you can do if you don't have proof they worked on your bike.

btw where are the "enclosed pics"

sorry they are coolong momentarily they are big files gotta chop them.

If you have friends that you could call on as witnesses to the work then that would be sufficient...How did you pay for the work cash or check???Hope it works out for you and that you can work out something with the shop...If not sue their butt...

That will be a tough one. If you paid with credit card or have a cancelled check should be okay, but if you used cash it will be more difficult. Not to make you feel bad, but the pics are nice. Did you think about getting the helmet painted to match?

I gotta a couple hand grenades left if you need them....

Rednecks like me cant use them...  Cant count to five.....

Funny.

Hey did they just do the work today? You should go down and talk to them face to face and see what they say im sure someone there should remember you if they're honest. That does suck azz thought. Sounds like a 40 buck fix and the master link can be picked up anywhere for about 5 bucks. Make sure you get a rivit tool as well to prevent this that way you know its done right. Hey when you get you bike right you should invite a brother down to hang out and ride.

good luck and hope you paid by check or cc

Him,

dude we all went to track Friday night where were you man. That is another thing I don't get. I was racing my bike that night and nothing happened but I barely get on it today and bam.

Yeah I paid with cash.

How do you figure 40 bucks to fix???

There is gapping hole in the side of my tranny case.

I guess I could just sand it done real good, get a piece of flat alum and jb weld the crap out of it huh

oh yeah the helmet is the girlfriends, I just where it because I don't have tinted visor on mine yet. Mine is the red devil KBC

Oh i thought it broke the clutch case. There is a guy selling one for 40 bucks. I was gonna go but my tags are expired and i havent gotten my new sticker yet. tell ya what ill come hang out next week wether their here or not.

Jmaz,

That sucks! Nice to meet you friday night. I went last night, a whopping total of four bikes showed up. I ended up winning $70 for my efforts, though.

Gotta run, but I will get with you later.

unless its some kind of hillbilly shop, they will have a record of you on the computer. Even if they try an' delete your entries , it will still be on the hard drive. You can format a hard drive 5 or 6 times but most of the info remains intact, you just have to know how to retrieve it. Sometimes the use of programs like Killdisc will remove all the data, but my guess is yer still listed on/in their records somewhere. That should get yer repairs paid for.

The JB weld thing.... ahhh I wouldn't. Not unless yer postive that every little tiny frag of case stayed on the outside. What I mean is, if even one small piece of case goes in a starts to float around in yer tranny gears, or blocks an' oil passage... you'll have another really "Bad Day".

If the Busa motor splits horizontally, it might not be to bad of a fix.

I'd love te remember who the bastids were that used to argue with Ol' Rubb about clip type masters vs rivited.
This thread needs to be read by everybody considering the clip-type.

hav a good 1...RSD.

You didnt say they used clip style masters links... i had the same idea and the shop wouldnt even sell me a clip for the busa chain. Thought he was tryin to get an extra dollar but i guess not
