i have an 08, running dry nitrous 30 hp jet with a pc3, and a TRE Had a few runs yesterday, and today when i started the bike i got a engine knock from the bottom right side of bike at idle seems to lessen when clutch is engaged, no loss of power and seems to go away when riding or i just can hear it, fearing the worst

Time to take it apart.
You might be able to catch it before any damage is done to the crank. Don't ride it thinking if it needs to come apart, it needs to come apart.

Thks Draco, started it, no sign of noise, rode for about five mins and parked, couple hours later, started and noise is back, def sounds like its from the crankcase, took cover off and cant visually see anything wrong, can i go further and take for four spring loaded bolts apart in the crank?

sorry six bolts, if i take them out, how hard to get back together anything in particular i should be looking for??

Was the clutch bolts loose? Mine done something like that and one of the clutch bolts was backing out and hitting the clutch cover. It sounds like ticking from under the cover.

7 foot #s on the torque wrench when you put thos 6 bolts back together..if they come loss it can do 1000's in damage to your clutch and maybe even engine as well

this is the 4th or 5th time i have read about a gen2 having these clutch plate bolts back out

Letter out on clutch bolts. If you tear this down, my understanding is you need new bolts. Don't reuse the bolts. Someone might verify this ...

I would DEF check the obvious stuff FIRST!(ie. Clutch...Complete tear down and even inspect basket/springs). I doubt very seriously that a 30 shot(inless you abused the h3ll out of it, or something else went WAY WRONG??)it hurt the bottom end? Not saying its impossible, but unless the factory assembled your engine on a friday afternoon(even then), there pretty much bullet proof. JMHO
Good Luck, and please report back when you find out what happened. :beerchug:

Only for info

in Germany i had 4 brand new 08 Busas and 3 B-kings for controling the clutch and none of them had fixed (secured with loctite) the bolts.
Only one Busa had a loose bolt , and was close to a big damage. Its a ticking sound and you can see the clutch cover beeing scratched from the bolt

so check this first , cause it not a great thing

be sure to stop riding! You do not want to see this in your garage!! my motor was a choice of lose bike to cops or blow motor...gotta love SPRAY!!!
