I was watching that on the news this morning...comes down to someone not knowing the boundaries I guess, and how do you force Iran to admit they were wrong? It won't happen...I just hope the crew returns safely

This would also explain why (as of the last I heard I think yesterday) that Iran was not allowing anyone to speak with the Marines and Sailors

i think iran did to provoke a war     the truth is that the current iranian leadership is not well liked by many of the iranian people

if iran can start a war then they will have cause to put the people on a war footing there by inacting their brand leadership

I can opnly predict that if they are not freed quickly, Iran will lose quickly its Nuclear power plant amoung other points of interest.

I would like to point out (from what I understand) that a majority of the Iranian people are pro western.

A majority of the Iranian people do not approve of what their psycho leader is doing.

So with that in mind, I don't think we should blow the crap out of Iran, if we do any strikes they need to be surgical in nature with zero civilian casualties as the goal.

I do think maybe a small covert operation to eliminate the threat from the inside might be a good idea

Of course if that would happen everyone would point fingers at the US and since I think we signed some kind of agreement that assassination of any country's leader is forbidden.

The other thing I am worried about is if we go at it with Iran (full out war) I am worried about our troops in Iraq.

If I were the leadership in Iran and I decided to go to war with the United States and Brittan, the first thing I would do is invade Iraq quickly and eliminate all US and Brittan forces in Iraq.

While we have a lot of military in Iraq, and the loss of everyone in Iraq would hit both countries hard, there is not a large enough presence to stop a full fledged attack by Iran.

Anyway, just one possible scenario I am sure is on the military planning table of the Iranian military.

And be prepared for North Korea do step it up. North Korea has been very quite lately. I have always felt North Korea and Iran were working together trying to keep us off ballance. I think North Korea was rattling their sword to take our attention off Iran, and now I think Iran is rattling their sword to keep our attention off North Korea (NK), and NK is being pretty quiet through all this.

I would not be surprised if when the crap hits the fans that NK and Iran both launch nuclear strikes and western targets and allies.

If this happens it will be critical in my opinion the response of China and Russia.

I think the key point will be China, if they side with us, then we will probably be ok, if they side with North Korea and then will also be siding with Iran, we could be in deep kimchi

What the hell!  Position 2 and 4 are nowhere near each other!  Did the Iranians steer the ship to the new position or just say that is where they are?  How about the GPS on the ship?
It's the same old story.  He said/she said.  What do they really want right now?  They just want to barter, and mayhem is all they know.  Lives for?  Countrymen for?  A life isn't worth as much over there and they know it means more to the western cultures, and they're bartering with all they've got.  Violence...........that is the only chip they have!
