Under tails

Many of us prefer the clean line that the under tail kits provide.Soon i will be changing the set up on my bike. However it wont be a kit.Thought about lopping the mud flap off sanding it flush, fabricating a braket for the plate and mounting flush signal lights. While looking through MOTORCYCLIST Feb issue i noticed something on the Bud Busa page 44.This is the record holder at Maxton. After wondering for a long time how it would look, now i know its a go.When i start the project i will photograph the entire thing for anyone who is interesed.

I just did the same thing. I actually removed my Mototeck undertail and replaced it back to stock with the exception of removing the flap almost entirely, then I made small aluminum brackets to mount aftermarket turn signals that are much smaller than stock but still DOT approved (bright halogen). Now the bike retains the stock outline but cleaner. Plus the stock "undertail" is much tougher than any aftermarket in regards to taking abuse simply becuase it is simple black plastic, not painted. PLus it has much more clearance than most aftermarket undertails.

I will post pitcures when it is all put back together - it is much too cold here to work on it the last few weeks.

I saw the same bike with the article in motorcyclest. Great idea if your on the strip. Mine really dosen't get raced that much, occasional hot action on the street and in the twisties. Looks great though. Would be nice to see some pictures after you do mod. I opted for the top gun undertail to match my anniversary edition color. Been waiting for it for 3 weeks, hopefully it gets here today. Was supposed to be here yesterday.

link doesn't work and what about blinkers?
