Understanding features

Hi so I’ve been riding the new bike about a week and I’ve just been riding it on A mode (full everything.) Needless to say I am in heaven. I’m now reading the manual and trying to understand how some of these features work:

Q1: TC: does turning this on effect anything while riding I should be aware of? If I’m not having any traction issues, will this effect feel of ride, cornering or speed, etc? Someone mentioned TC is “terrifying.”

Q2: FL: so it says it can reduce the ability of the front end to lift. Ok, but how? Reducing RPMs? I can have PW on 1 and FL on 10, so I don’t get what it’s actually doing.

Q3: QS: do you guys ride around the city in level 1 or 2 for quick shift?

Also, are there any locals in Vegas? :)

My comment that TC is terrifying was because I came into a corner hot, and not knowing I had accidentally put TC on 6(highest level) while being unfamiliar with the bar switches and new tech, it gave me no real feel or feedback from the road, I could not feel that the front forks or brakes were doing anything.
Of course this was in a sharp curve with no guardrail and an 80'+ shear drop, so yeah, caught me off-guard in a bad spot.
Worst corner of my life.
For a new rider, I would A mode/TC off everywhere, and get a feel for what the bike will do.
First and foremost you need the suspension sag set to your body weight with gear. Otherwise, it will Never handle correctly, and you will never be in full control(tire pressure is Very important as well).
Some will disagree with my old school advise, but riding around depending on electronic nannies to save you is no good either.
As said, it's All in the wrist, the bike will go no faster than you make it.
Relax, do Not worry about it.
Ride your own ride at your own pace.
Rain? So what, be less agressive with the throttle.
Cold roads and tires? Be careful as traction is not as good and it can be slippery.
Tires need time to warm up too, even in warm weather.
You are taking your time and asking lots of questions, and most of all you are enjoying yourself...keep that up and you will be fine.
