Undertail Question

Thanks in advance for checking this. I ordered the undertail kit from Street and Track and I had a little trouble understanding the directions. I purchased the undertail kit that keeps the stock brake light but it's asking me to rotate the taillight 180 degrees as well as the bracket. Has anyone done this and my question is do you cut off the license plate light and does the bracket that holds the tail light flip as well? Once it flips, the 4 screw hole that hold the bracket don't line up because one of the is a bit extended then the other. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'll send pics when I'm done. Have alot of work done so far and it's a 2007 Busa with 48 miles on it.

Here's the link to which one is on the page. I actually like the one that keep the stock brake light. If I knew that it was going to be this much trouble I would have gotten another kit. At this point I'm determined to make it work. It's the 3rd one down on that link. It did come with instructions don't get me wrong, I'm just a little confused with what to do on the tail light..

I called them last night and left a message. I'm sure Charles will call me back. You usually always does..

I've never done the type you're referring to, but I am pretty sure the little rectangular reflector has to come off, then you turn the light upside down and remount it.

I'm thinking the same thing. The bracket says it suppose to be flipped too, that's another part in question..

It depends on how you remove the light. The tail light bracket has to be oriented in the bike a certain way.

Take the light assembly out of the bike, light and bracket. Take tail light off of bracket, remove rectangular reflector, and remount light in bracket upside down. Reinstall bracket in original position on bike.

The light has to be upside down, not the bracket. That I am 95% sure of after looking at my light and bracket since I did not use mine for the Mototeck.

Dremel the little reflector peice off, then clean up the rough edges with some fine sand paper, you can even use plastic polish when done to finish cleaning up the cut.

Awesome.. Thanks alot Helo. I should have it almost complete assembled tonight. I'll post some pics later..

.....sounds like you're on your way now !! Don't forget those pics !!

Thanks to all that helped me with the installation. I found out that the Taillight had to flip 180 and the bracket rotated 180, not flipped. And you'll get what you see here Finally..
