The dealer replaced the sending unit, said the original was bad. That's the good news, the not so good news is that after picking the bike up and topping it off, the gauge now does not read above 1/2 a tank, even though it's full.
The dealer said Suzuki told them that the float was not "bent" in the proper position. I'm also now hearing the float clink in the tank if I move the bike side to side slightly, this never happened before (doesn't seem right to me). At any rate, I'm taking it in Friday again to get checked out and fixed under warranty. Any thoughts as to why this is occuring and forgive my ignorance, but any time I'm told that a part has to be bent to get a proper reading, when it should be a factory part it has me a little concerned. That is of course unless this is how it's done at the factory, but whatever. I just think paying 10k+ for a bike the fuel gauge should at least work. Then again, I should be blessed, the y2k zx9r doesn't even have one!
