Velosity Stacks

I have heard all short...

This is something I would like to know more on...

I'm getting ready to run some of these test in the next week....but I'm not sure if that info will be good for anyone else because I'm running a totally different setup.

I'm going to do Dyno pulls useing a different type of stacks and each pull I'm going to make the stack smaller as I go untill the differences start to show.

I also think My airbox differs from everyone elses also...or at least I've never read anyones airbox mod that was the same as mine.

I remember way back a few months ago...someone performed some kind of test that was similar to the one I'm about to do but it was with a stock motor parts so I'm not sure what kind of gains I might find...

If anyone else has done any R&D like this with thier airbox lets hear about it!?!?

30mm posted on boards by someone before.I use all short and my air box is cut in half using the tank as lid with under tank foam removed and mod.air intakes,no taper where it goes into frame.alleaks sealed with high density foam and sealer. all rough contours and edges in airbox and inlet tubes smoothed.ramair crank breathe in trash.

I knew someone did some R&D on the stacks....just couldn't remember who.

Thanks TOJ, I'll look back and check it out!

M-H, what kind of performance gain showed on your mod?

never dynod after the inlet mod but it showed no real difference on dyno before then it just picked up 7or 8 mph in1/4 6 in th1/8 i'll get the new dyno in about 1 week and let you know what i got before and after my ti muzzy is installed.

TOJ:
<<Conclusion: stacks is a easy way to gain some hp but the lenght(25mm) worked best for my bike wich is not stock (ported, skimmed, and a true 4-1 -am I the only one out here with a true 4-1?)>>

TOJ, Thanks again for the info!

BTW, How much total hp are you getting from your bike?

Also, I don't know if you saw it the last time but...I have a 4 into 1 on My Busa also..

Frank

I had 186rwhp(corrected and on pump gas) last summer but that is history, now I´m doing some real engine tuning, and a new 4-1!!

I read somwhere that the stacks on the 2000 model is even shorter on the two outer ones. So as soon as I know if thats true I will order two of those and put the two I have now in the middle. That would be the best and easiest way to get short stacks on.( remember that the two inner cylinders have shorter way than the two outer due to casting design. )
