I have to say, I've being waiting for the release of the 2011 Liter bikes. And I must say Im highly disappointed in the Manufacturers. All but ONE.. Suzuki I thought was going to have something great coming out Hmm NOT REALLY. They skip a year made NO changes, to the bike but colors, price and rised the price $2000, Yamaha 2011 bike unchange, But granted the bike was a new release least yr. Bmw New bike released last year rising the bar. For the japanese manufacturer. Now to Kawasaki, I have not be a big fan of them Big I have to say they are really stepping it up to make a effort to compete against BMW. And the parts are going to be more affordable to replace then BMW'S parts, If you would like to get involved in racing or track days like myself. So Im still looking but at this point I'm really leaning towards getting the new ZX10. (Black) Because the Green is Ugly as sin.. LOL

I don't think there's another liter bike with the specs of the new ZX-10. Not yet, at least.

And despite all the hype surrounding the BMW S1000 RR, the Aprilia RSV4 not only out-performed the BMW, it took the World Superbike championship.

I am waiting for real world numbers for the zx10 before I make my decision,

It's the s1000 rr or the 10 for me in the spring

On the street, the RSV seemed lacking to me, I just wasnt feeling the V4 motor and the BMW handled better, at least with my novice azz on it:laugh:

I find myself leaning towards the bmw, as it seems like the best bang for your buck in this case...

With the new regulations going into place and already they supposedly detuned the zx for the US, I don't know if there will be a BMW killer, maybe something as fast but not a killer, I have taken one out and thrashed it, talk about full throttle clutch dumps and just a little wheelie and go, thing is nasty, electronics are in place now to make slower guys faster with less mistakes.

I'm thinking the engineers @ the big 4 are at the drawing board. BMW shot one over the bow.

The big 4 agreed to a 3 year run of there 1k's 750/600's instead of the every 2 year update. Economic issues has hit them all!

The Kawasaki 1k was 07-10 production run. New model due 2011.
The Honda 1k 08-011 Production run. New model due 2012.
The Yamaha 1k 09-011 Production run. New model due in 2012
The Suzuki 1k 09-011 Production run. New model due in 2012.

Give them time.... they will step up to the challenge!

I said it wouldn't be long before the Japanese responded to BMW's challenge.
I predict the new ZX-10 will be even better than the S1000RR.

Now let's see what Honda comes out with!

bmw really stepped up thier game this year with the 1000 and thier 1600tour bike dont look bad either. the z 10 is mehh, im not impressed.

Wasnt that because it was using overpriced unobtainable parts that
are banned in many other classes ? I will post up the info when I find it again.

I'll ask for more info if anyone's interested,
but coming from a guy who races an S1000RR....

"They cheated through mid year by introducing the way valves are driven via a $25K kit. Look at the Superstock 1000 series where Aprilia isn't allowed to use the valve kit... they have no chance against the S1"

A big step away from the road bike ?

FIM Moves to Outlaw Aprilia’s RSV4 Cam Gear Kit for 2011 | Ducati News Today

Funny thing is they were pretty quick without the gear driven cam's, now they have the
stigma of having the rules changed because they were racing a non-road bike version.

That new 10R will probably run about 22k dollars here in Japan. I don't understand why bikes here are detuned more than the US specs? the euro specs are about 3 more hp than the states. Japan sells the slower bikes on their own market.

Couple of things for me about this. New to the track, (going for my third trip to Barber this weekend) I would not buy a new mode capable bike to start track days.

Any of the top 4 liter bikes used would serve you well and would be 1/2 the cost to get started. (I am tracking the Busa....maybe a cheap track bike next year) They are going to let YOU drive the bike with no traction / modes masking your abilities. Prove out the skills I KNOW you have then step into making your self faster and a better rider through better equipment after a year or two at the track.

Good to see you posting again.:beerchug:
