vertical licence plate

not sure if this belongs in this thread but here goes.
was doing some research the other day and ran across a motorcycle lawyers web site. come to find out in virginia it is not illegal to have licence plate mounted in the vertical position. nothing in the law book states that it required to be horizontal, it just has to be visable and have a light. i bring this up because most of us know someone or has been the one to get a ticket for it.

I've had a vertical plate for 5+ years now, had a cop ride my Busa, had a friend ride it and he was pulled, cop ran the tag, never been hassled. I've even had State behind me and not once was I pulled for it.

The guys at Redline in Yorktown told me they'd pass it, and that shocked me. I've been taking it to a local car shop that doesn't know much about motorcycles LOL

Good info...mine does not have a light, yet...I'm procrastinating

I was sold the bike w/ a Vert swingarm tag bracket already on the bike directly from the dealership. I've never been even warned about it... :::Knock on wood!:::
