Tonight, me an a couple buddies decide to head up to A mountain, near our university, we hop in my car, other two boyz have been drinking, so im drivin, we are goin to check out a spot where we might do some downhilling on our longboards, (big azz skateboards with huge wheels for the uninitaited) anyway, we go out, hang for a bit check out the hill and what not, and when we are drivin back in, i am pushin the car a bit, its just a 2003 maxima, but i know how to drive her, or so i think, anyway, we are bombin, bout 100- 120, just cruisin, hittin apex's and what not, we come up on another corner, and im like no big, im on the brakes pretty hard, on the entry, but there is a big bump, knocks the rear end up and gets her loose, im not sure what kind of spins and what not happend, but we ended up sliding off the road, lucky enough, we are all fine, and the car only has a flat front right, and we only ended up about 6 feet from the roadway, anyway, sorry for the ramble, just wanted to say BE SAFE OUT THERE, after 30+ thousand miles behind the wheel of that car i thought i knew what i was doing, but i failed to remember that there are also unexpected elements, anyway, thought i would share....

you're very lucky....

Had the same thing happen to my Altima (03 V6) when I was playin cat an' mouse with a V6 camry.

Too hot goin into a turn, spun out at 100+. Kinda freaky with the car going south facing north and the telephone poles passing from the south going north.

Missed the row of telephone poles by 15 ft.

Be safe out there, dood....

Thanks brother, if we would have made it to the next corner, there would have been a guardrail involved, i cant sleep, and i had a friend drive me home, i thought i had tamed the beast, guess not eh....

not nearly enough, no.

Nowadays, I spend my time cruising in the altima. Fuggin lil #####-### #####. Now I'm skeered to go anything over 95. Damn back end gets real light and the front gets a little squirrely. Nissan should do away with that speed-sensitive steering.

forgot to mention...blew out my left rear and wore patches clean through the tread in the other three. Spent close to $600 on tires.

Damn cage....can't handle worth junk.

no kidding eh, ive got over a grand worth of rubber sitting on the ground on that biatch... im just hopin that getting the flat fixed is all i need to do to get her back on the road... its just got a rock wedged in the bead... pop it out and air it up is what im prayin for...

What's a what not? You said you were chekin out hills and what nots, and hitting apex's and what nots. Maybe what nots caused your tire to blow. I'd say they may not be speed rated for 120 under what not conditions.

haha, and what not, meaning hangin out, and my tires are rated for 180+...

You guys are OK and learn something... I`m glad you din`t rolled over... FWD cars very forgiving to a point. When rear finally lost traction you are done. Almost no way to correct that.
Nissan put ingenious engine in badly weighted body.
Why do you think Porsche, MB and BMW NEVER did FWD cars?
Must be a reason for that.
Damn Max looks good tho...

+1.. catchin a FWD car after it breaks loose is luck.. anybody thats ever broke one loose and caught will tell you that.. the ones that say otherwise are just lying to themselves.

no serious driving machine out there is a FWD.. and yes that includes the honda civic to all the ricers out there.

Glad there wasn't anybody comin the other way to be on the recieving end of your mishap.
