Before I make my onw I was wondering if anyone has gotten a nice engine stand for the busa motor. I have tried searching and emailed a few companies but nothing back yet. Thanks guys:beerchug:

I have a Black & Decker Workmate that I use. Just open the top enough to drop the bottom of the oil pan through.

Looks similar to this:

Tough to see, but here's a pic of my engine sitting on the Workmate:

That's the best idea I've seen for working on bike engines Omar!

Thanks, Doug! Works great - it just "cradles" the engine. I've had my engine out and torn apart 3 times...used it every time.

I've always done my rebuilds on a flat-top workbench. It's not fun when the blocks slip out of from under the engine housing while torquing down the cylinder head.

Build your own. Took me an hour and about $7 in scrap metal.

Works like a charm. The casters I had laying around from an old tool box that was junk.

I just picked up my first Busa, but I borrowed a stand from a friend to work on my R1. He made it, but I am sure someone makes something similar. I think it is much better than the tables shown because it is a snap to rotate the engine. You just pull a pin, rotate, and put the pin back in.

What isn't pictured is a pan that goes on the bottom to catch oil so there is no mess.

Check the thread below for a little help.

Hey JP, that's a pretty good setup. The standard engine stand can be bought for about $50 new. The white plate mounted to it would be an easy build for any local metal shop.

Yes, when I said my friend made it, I meant that he made that white adapter. The tough part was lifting the motor up to hook in the stand after putting the white piece on. I just lifted it, but I think I would need some help to do it with the Busa motor since it is heavier. Here is a link with more pictures. I was just fixing the tranny.

It is an old link...about 30,000 miles ago and only works in IE for some reason.
