WARNING

OB_ON A BUS

Registered
Over the last few weeks the weather in blighty has been wet and windy, what a surprise I hear you say, usually its pissing down and windy, the warning I have is side wind, we all know that fully faired bikes suffer from it, but the busa has a problem I have never experienced, when the wind blows I can feel the front wheel sliding as if the bike is being lent to far, it doesnt happen all the time but when it does it scares the crap out of me, my only explanation for this is the front mudguard (being so big) acts as a sort of sail, well something like that, and the tyres (BT56’s) not groved to be pushed that way just release grip, I reckon the longest slide so far is probably about 2in which doesnt seem alot but when it happens the ol arse starts to squeal. Im lucky so far as the times it has happened the gusts where only short, I dread to think what would happen if the gusts where say a minute long, I reckon you’d be off. NOTHING CAN PREPARE YOU FOR IT. Any one else experienced this fun element????

Dude buy some new tires and it will cure most of the problem.Metzeler mez3,Michelin pilots,tx15/25,Avon azero`s just to name a few.

I'm with you on the sideways action. When riding on the highways this late in the year where I live the wind really picks up significantly compared to the summer months. I'm doing a respectable 85mph, not wanting to get smacked by some cager changing lanes without looking 1st, and the wind pushes me into the breakdown lane. I start to pass a semi and the wind dies down but when I pass it I'm fighting the wind again at about a 70 - 75 degree lean. I laugh about it now 'cause it probably looked silly going straight down a highway at a lean but the instant change wasn't very silly when, for that moment, you fight to keep yourself from hitting the concrete divider. I hope everyone else is fairing much better than I.
