Weather stations?

I haven't been able to decide which station I want for home use, so I've stuck with:

weatherbug.com
weather.gov

what did you exspect? thats stuffs for million dollar race teams.:poke: Oh and if your are a million $ team, by all means get one. I just use the local FM to see if were going to get rained out:rofl:

Kresler i think thats how you spell it, has a very good hand held.

I use a Computech for bracket racing, and mostly just focus on DA (density altitude). I bought mine used on ebay for $100. DA can change at my local track from +3800 to -500 ft over the course of the year, and can change by 1500 ft in a single day, so many of us use it as a tool to help predict a good dial in, or to help us tune. For example, I usually save my Fuel map files with the track name, the date, and the DA in the file name. That way when I show up to any track, I can quickly load a map thats close to the DA that day. The first pass of the day is much closer in tune that way. The other way to use the Computech is to help your dial in. Many tracks cool down later in the afternoon; the DA drops, and the ET starts dropping as well. Many bikes find around a 0.1 second change in ET for every 1500 ft in DA. A good weather station can help you estimate your ET to the nearest 100th. Its not just a tool for big $ teams.

Biondo all the way (plus he races :) ) pretty simple and middle of the road pricing (<$500)

You can just buy a "wet bulb" and piece your own system together pretty cheap.. you still need a good thermometer, know the altitude (AGL and GPS does this fine) of your location and the rest is just math.. .I am sure there are some spreadsheets already done and out there..

Seems my CS1 flight computer does density altitude too... gotta dig it out and put a battery in it

Thanx Draco thats kinda what im lookin for. I race at E'Town and Atco on the weekends and there is a difference in the "air" between the 2 tracks. I would like to keep track of the density altitude, temps and humidity and see how the bike runs at different density altitudes and then I can figure out more accurately my dial in.

Dragtimes.com now has a DA calculator. It will tell you almost any track/any day. Even past days so you can go back and check.
