Went to the Gap

Yeah so went to the gap this past weekend. Rained Saturday so the only day I got to ride was on Sunday. Me and my chica are going up foothills parkway headed toward 129 and stop where they meet each other. I can't take it anymore I have to ride rachael. So I get out of the truck, and set up the ramps and proceed to roll the bike out. I have done this I don't know how many times before, this time however the front tire slipped off the ramp and the bike fell.

All is good with the bike...Gouged the plastic pretty good, and some minor scratches on the fairing from the bed of the truck. Also the pipe is bent up and scratched from its balancing act. I have a bruise from where she fell on my leg. Now just imagine the back tire on the ground and the front tire and body laying in the bed...Isn't that funny! I looked like such a tard.

We all drop our bikes, I am just glad this time I wasn't forced off the road into a ditch!! Pictures you ask? Why sure I will do the Linky Thing!

Will post gap pictures soon as film is developed, and whenever killboy updates with this weekends pics.
 
Sorry to here that bro! I know how awful it feels to get scratches on the bike ...

I ended up getting a couple of scratches on Elenor two weeks back, and I almost died in agony!! Anyway its all back to normal for me... and so will it be for you soon

...oh and I highly recomend that you get a set of frame sliders!! They really do help in reducing the damage to the plastic when the bike gets dropped!!
 
lol yeah I almost put a set on before I left for the gap...would have probably helped a bit lol
 
Sorry to hear that you dropped it...but, at least you weren't riding and THEN dropped it...I was afraid we'd had another Dragon casualty...

How far do you live from Robbinsville? My wife & I are going back up in July. It will be the week after the fourth. We are also kicking around spending a couple days in north Georgia, but the only area I know there is a little bit around Clayton.
 
If you look at the map of GA. I am right in the middle. About 30 minutes south from Macon. I am about 5.5 hours from robbinsville. North GA around helen and hiwasee have some great twisties!

Check out the area around Franklin and Highlands. Plenty of killer roads there. I'm going up on Friday for about 11 days.
 
That sucks about dropping your bike..
I am going up the Deals Gap the first weekend in June, with my brother who rides a FJR1300, I be sure to get some pics.
(If i ever get my damn LE)
