You guys know that we had the ice storm a few weeks ago and that was an ordeal in and of itself but last week was pretty hectic. We had winds on Wed that were sustained 30 mph and gusting to 50mph and it has been really dry and the relative humidity was low. I was sitting at my desk and lookup on the security cameras and saw smoke in the distance to the South, not a good sign.
I ran out the door, saw a large plume of smoke coming quick and growing exponentially. Evacuated my niece, parents and other family members from the street and by that time (just minutes) the fire was here... All is good, nothing burned down because we prepare for this and the fire dept did an exceptional job... There was about 100 rigs out here working it for over 12 hours.
Then we walked through the house on Thurs and noticed the floor was squishy wet. I tracked it down to being in the wall and when I cut away the sheetrock I found a piece of PEX that had a pinhole in it... I have never seen a hole in PEX like this either, WEIRD...
In the end, these are just life problems and nothing compared to the challenges that others are going through but kept me hopping for several days...
