What about for me...

Ok so, I have ridden bikes for a while, have taken the motorcycle course and got the endorsement. Last summer I left from WA state and rode HWY 101 down past fort brag california on my suzuki Katana 750. Loved the ride and I love the busa's ( as far as look, have never ridden one). Was wondering if a person on my height and weight (5 foot 8 and 188#'s) would be an appropriate size for such a big bike. Also I love to ride long distances and just ride all the time, how is the comfort and positioning of this bike from some of you guys that have ridden it for a while? These questions have probably been asked many times, but hay, what's one more time right. Thanks again for the heads up.

:welcome: to the oRg..

You will be fine with the mighty Hayabusa.. Several members on here long distance ride on there Busa's.. Great all around motorcycle, ergonomics are not that far off from the Katana you have been riding..

:welcome: to the .org!

The versatility of the Busa is what makes it such an enjoyable machine. Pull the trigger and don't look back. You won't regret it! :beerchug:

:welcome: to the board...the great thing about the Busa is you can make her into almost any kind of machine that you want...as long as you respect the increase in power until you have gotten used to her, you shouldn't have any problem moving from your Katana to a Busa :beerchug:

You'll love a long distance ride on a busa'. I ran Atlanta to Indiana on a stock seat, no handle bar risers or adjusted pegs. There's plenty of mods to make it more to your liking for comfort. It's not necessarily about your size.. really about your skill. My 5'3 130pnd fiance can ride the 'busa just fine, just tiptoes a little much.. so you should be good.

Sweet, thanks for all the input, sounds like a good match for me then. Hopefully the bike purchase will be soon then. Any good insurance rates? Any recommendations?

:welcome: You're about the same weight and hieght that I am and I have no problem. As far as insurance, I think most here agree that state farm probably has the best rates. Check around before you buy a bike. Some companies are outrageous when it comes to insuring a sport bike. Good Luck.

:welcome:

It's not about size it's about skill so if your confident you can ride a bike you can ride any bike .

And if you are still too short tie some blocks to the bottoms of your shoes...:moon:

:welcome: I've done several 500+ mile trips with no problems. Well, just other people complaining because they are having back spasms or wrist problems:laugh: I've rode with people on cruisers that complain after a couple hundred miles, no problem with the busa.

You will love the 'Busa. It is a great bike for long distance riding and daily commuting. It is a Caddy with a Corvette motor in it!

I'm 5'8 1/2" (noticed the 1/2" Ha,ha) and I have no problem with the Busa for doing distance.
