What are these for and why are they leaking?

Took the fairings off to install my new HID lights when I noticed that these plugs??? were leaking oil. What are these for any any ideas why they would be leaking? Thanks!

Nope, she only has 1500kms on her and just got her first service at the stealership

Serviced at 1100kms, just noticed it leaking from these plugs at 1500kms. What are these plugs for?

Dont know about the Gen 2 motor but on the Gen1 there are seep holes there. Mine was blowing oil out of them after having the valves adjusted. Valve cover gasket wasnt put back on right. Again, I dont know if that's even remotely close. Just guessing and giving your thread a :bump:

I assume it's still under warranty since you just had the first service done.

Bottom line is it should no way be leaking oil from anywhere. Take it to the dealer and have them fix it. Anytime I take anything to a shop (usually only for warranty stuff) I always clean the bike up real good and inspect it. Then when I get it back, inspect it again to make sure they didn't do any damage to it. I guess I have trust issues.

Those are not oil galley related, those are coolant plugs, similar to freeze plugs in a can, however you may a leak some where else. When you had your last service done, did they check the valves? If they did, they must have not reinstalled the valve cover correctly! One of the gasket on the valve cover most likely isn't seated correctly!
At any rate the bike is covered under warrenty, i would suggest bringing it to the dealer asap, so they can look at it!

Make sure there isn't a leak down around the oil filter.....I guess it could be possible that the wind from your ride could've blown some oil up into that area. ???

Reguardless if it is or not, chances are if it was removed they forgot to put the washer back on. Take a look at the side angle and see if you see a bronze colored washer sandwiched between. I'd bet they forgot that part of the reinstall.
