hey guys, i got an 03 LE with 30000kms on it everything runs great (except for the clutch catching high). What adjustments/things I can do to keep the bike running for another 30 (valve clearance and things like that). I love this bike and I want to keep it running like new so any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks guys, ride safe!

things ive already done:
-just changed coolant
-new chain
-new rear sprocket
-new oil
-new air filter

oops, forgot one thing, i have a BMW air filter and i know keeping it clean is important whats the best way to safely clean the filter?

You Busa is still a baby. Follow the service manual for what needs to be done when. Hopefully you've done the new oil about 5 times already. Air filter should be cleaned/replaced every 11,000 miles under normal conditions. You should change out the front and rear sprockets with the chain.

:thumbsup:thanks. there alot of bugs where i live you can see by looking at the front of my bike and visor thats my only concern with the air filter.
where in the service manual can i find this information?

I have 52,000 miles on my '04. I've changed the oil & filter every 3-4K, cleaned the air filter every other oil change, been through 4 sets of chains and sprockets, 6 sets of brake pads, and a set of rotors. Other than a chain failing on me once, which broke the water pump, clutch rod, sprocket cover and speed sensor, the bike has been bullet proof.

Basically it what it boils down to is doing your basic maintenance on the bike, then it will give you years of fun. Also, get yourself the service manual, or download it from here. It's pinned in the maintenance section of the board.

Next on my list is a full suspension rebuild and new bearings.

I have an '03 with 57,000 miles on it. Never had any serious problems with it. Do your regular maintenance, including throttle body synch and do all of it on schedule and I think you can get way more miles out of it.

Some Busas in that time frame have 100,000+ miles on them.

ahh very good stuff guys. glad to hear the busas are serving you well. one concern though, throttle body synch...what is it and how do you maintain it? thanks.

If you are not going to have a shop maintain your bike. Get the service manual for it. It will explain how to do all of the service items.
