What did everyone do for Thanksgiving?

My children wanted to ride, so we went over to the shop and I got pics of my kids catching some air.

Got out my father's tractor(overgrown & overpriced, glorified lawnmower) and built a couple more jumps for them.

Great day with the family, finally catching up on some bills and am looking for a dirt bike so I can ride with my kids again.

What did everyone else do? Post up and lets hear.

Had my two youngest kids and grandson and a friend over for a huge Turkey dinner with sweet potato pie for dessert! It was great. I was so tired after the turkey (what is it about turkey that makes you tired?) I couldn't even eat dessert. It was a nice quiet day (other than the grandson's energy)
Hope everyone had a good day!!!!

Got up at 5am, started the turkey. Drove over to San Francisco and picked up a friend who can't drive; drove back home and finished fixing lunch.

Then, had lunch
smile.gif
Turkey, sweet potato & marshmallow, mashed potato, green peas, corn, beets, and bread

Then hung out for an hour or so and decided the Beast needed to be unleashed. Amazingly enough the highways were largely empty and devoid of LEOs so a couple of VERY quick run to 130 were in my future. I like those fast squirts to hypersonic. Then I slowed down and cruised for about 30mins between 80 & 90. Went up to Napa to see the dead grapes on the vines.

Then came home and promptly fell asleep with my leathers still on

Oh yeah, life is good sometimes

That's sounds like you had a great day! I was craving a busa ride but it was not in the cards today.

Our menu consisted of Turkey (duh) stuffing, mashed taters and gravy, sweet potatoes, fresh green beans, home made cranberry sauce, salad, and the ever so popular black olives that you can put on every finger! My grandson's favorite! LOL!

I'm hoping the rain will let up a bit tomorrow, enough for a good jaunt on the scooter! Or at least sometime this weekend.

Spent the day at the house eating. Went for about a 30 minute ride cause I just had to.

worked 12 hours then stopped by the parents house on the way home and ate.turkey has a natural sedative in it scootergirl that why it makes you sleepy.

The substance that makes you sleepy is L-tryptophan, an essential amino acid with a documented sleep inducing effect. L-tryptophan may be found in turkey and other dietary proteins, but it's actually a carbohydrate-rich (as opposed to protein-rich) meal that increases the level of this amino acid in the brain and leads to serotonin synthesis. Carbohydrates stimulate the pancreas to secrete insulin. When this occurs, some amino acids that compete with tryptophan leave the bloodstream and enter muscle cells. This causes an increase in the relative concentration of tryptophan in the bloodstream. Serotonin is synthesized and you feel that familiar sleepy feeling.

Lounged at my house eating turkey and watching football with my family and my in-laws. It wasn't too bad actually.

Got up at six am and pulled my turkey from the brine mixture I had concocted... made a turtle cheese cake and two shoefly pies... Took all that plus the gravy and stuffing I had made to my sister in laws because she just had another baby... Was a good day! Hope you all had a great day!

Worked a day tour.

It was a busy one too. Never got a chance to eat anything, much less turkey. Will be cooking mine today.
Needed the bourbon after this swing of tours.

Next week, on to the mids.

Ate turducken, watch both football games, and played some Need for Speed Most Wanted. How about posting pics of the kids catching some air?
