(joker73 @ Aug. 24 2007,10:30) Ok, I checked out everything and the only thing left that could be causing my bike to not start is ........deep breath......
If your bike is a 2000,you can use a 1999 or 2000 model ecu.give me a call and see if i can help you solve your problem before buying a ecu, maybe something other than that you missed.i'll be in shop in a few hours or pm me your #
Ok. Here is the deal as of now. I'm about to Flintstone the busa just to get a ride in. The thing still will not start!
. The codes I'm getting are C24, C25, C26 and C27. Basically no fire to the plugs. I had my original motor out back so I took the stator, rectifier and crank sensor off and replaced them one by one to hopefully fix the problem. Still nothing which leads me to believe that it might be the ECU. After searching for someone that might have a 1999 or 2000 that would be willing to plug my ECU into their bike to see if it was still working came up dry I started looking for a used one on the net. Then it hit me!
My bike is a 2000 model but the engine is out of a 2001 model. When I purchased the engine it did not come with the ECU so I just plugged in the one from my original motor. My question is:
1. How did a 2000 ECU work with a 2001 engine? I have been running this setup since October of last year.
2. Could this be the cause of the bike not running? Did the mis match finally take it's toll on the ECU?
