2001 busa air box mod and full hindal exhaust 6 inch arm got 16/42 and a 50 shot im a big boy yes im on a diet geared up im 295 told you i was a big boy lol without the clutch mod best 60ft was a 1.688 is that good or bad and what do you think would be the best gear for the back

try bumping the rear up to a 45 i had 16/46 when i was racing and i'm over 300 suited that should put you in good. if you find your shifting just before the 1/4 line lights then time to drop go back down a gear or 2

DO you have any idea at what RPM or what gear your going across the lights at now? as for the 1.68 thats a damn good start with some more practice you may be able to get down in the high 1.50 area but your weight is your biggest enemy right now.

I been talking with a few ppl and i think im goin to try my 16/42 again with the clutch mod and the nitrous i dont want to run out of gearing i know I can get it down to a 1.5 or if im good 1.4 i puuled lots of 1.5s on my friends busa with a clutch mod with the same arm I been traping 134 with 1,750 60fts with a good 60ft and a 50 shot of nitrous what do you think I will trap

If your gona do the Nos then stay with the 16/42 if your gona leave it the way it is then try a 44 if you can pull a bit better 60 you should be trapping right at the end of your gear you got a 1000 some rpms to go.

whats the redline on a stock 01 busa i think my bike goes 10500 tops not sure havnt got on it in 3 months been cold here

It's 10,800 if i remember correctly been a very long time since i have been up there or even looked at my gauge cluster that closely

I weigh 280lbs fully suited and my Hayabusa was stock with a PCIII USB w/stock map and +6 on rear sprocket so a 17/46 combo. The bike was slammed and strapped but not stretched. At 5300' altitude I go through the traps in 4th @ around 10.2k to 10.4k. With a 50hp shot I would use 5th and still have room in 5th gear but not much. Typically run 10.50s @130mph w/o nitrous and 10.20s @140mph with progressive and window switch.

I got 1.65 60fts several times and really average 1.68s on stock clutch etc. A real ***** considering our weights want to slide a hair back and cause us to wheelie a lot. Lower altitude and a clutch mod would be nice but I am in the middle of turboing it as we speak and may end up with a lockup and boost.......well, that will take care of the altitude problem.

Good luck!!
