What Grinds YOUR Gears?

So lets hear it... What grinds your gears while riding? Other than improper shifting or tranny issues that is

Heres a few of mine:
1) When you are riding some nice mountain twisties... gettin down pretty good, got a good rythm going... Then you come up on a line of cagers... And there isnt anywhere to pass.

2) When cagers try to accomodate you. Really, the road would be a lot safer if people learned to just stay put. I absolutely hate it when a cager sees me behind him, and decides to move over half way onto the shoulder so I can pass. I do not pass on the line, so moving over isnt going to help me at all. And all you are likely to do is sling rocks and $hit behind you, and I dont want to get nailed in the neck with a rock at highway speeds!

3) When cagers dont look before changing lanes, and try to run me out of mine. Then when I honk and honk and honk, occasionally they have the nerve to smile and wave. Yeah **** you. See if you are smiling and waving if I were driving a semi-truck and ran you out of your lane, a$$hole! I keep telling myself that next time it happens, Im gonna leave a nice boot shaped dent in their door. But I never can seem to remember...

I always seem to get stuck behind some slow cager right as the road starts to get twisty. Personal favorite is getting behind an 18-wheeler on the nice twisty mountain roads - you get two perks. First is to ride the road at 20mph, second is that sweet smell of melting brakes. :cheerleader:

2.) Cops / Speed limits ....

Cars that won't do the the speed limit even on the driest hot day and they still won't do 60

Cops that follow me for miles, guess their expecting me to do a wheelie or something eventually

People driving on cell phones- really nice when people are in your lane coming right at ya

People trying to race

Entering behind another bike or car on the freeway when they can't find the gas pedal. Entering a 70 mph freeway at 35 or 40 is not ok.
I will not get rearended because you won't hit the gas.

Entering onto a highway on a ramp and people wont get over to let you on. I mean come in there is a whole other lane over there!!!!

Even worse is when you are already on the freeway and some jackass merges from an offramp in front of you at half the speed limit.

People that do not know how to merge. And bicyclist who ride two - three abreast anywhere and mainly in the canyons.

When the car ahead of me spays its windshield washer fluid. It always goes over the roof and on me and my bike. :banghead:

Lit cigarrettes chucked out of the window flying backwards directly at me.

Dumb arses texting while driving and swerving in and out of their lane and into mine and when I honk and ride up next to them and rev the motor, they look at me like "WTF is your problem?" Well excuse me if I don't appreciate you taking my life into your own dumb azz hands!!

Ok, breath, I feel better now!

Harleys going 20 mph around a curve and then gunning the entire straight so they can slam on their brakes before entering the next corner

California being the only state with lane-splitting

fathers that get upset when i give their daughters a ride

people in cages that start talking to me about how much they love to ride and then say they just went over 10,000 miles (while puffing up their chests) on their 10 year old cruiser

I hate it when people have to park right next to my bike, I mean right next to it when I clearly parked away from the nearest car and in the middle of the space, at an angle to I dont get hit with a door and leave plenty of room for cages. I hate that. Other bikes dont count, I like having my bike in a group of bike when parked.

Somebody yelling at me to "do a wheelie" on every other block while driving through downtown areas. Get your own bike.

Motorcyclists who;

- when leaving a light drag their feet through intersections.

- dress like rebel, criminal, outlaws and then complain about "those darn kids on sport bikes breaking the laws making us look bad".

- blame all accidents on "cagers making a left hand turn" while refusing to take any other personal responsibility for their own safety other than loud pipes.

- crash and are 100% at fault and then blame the road.

- ride slower than the speed limit.

- park with their front wheel to the curb.

- offer advice on which tire is most confidence inspiring, sticks and handles the best while riding on a old tire that has two inch chicken strips and a giant flat spot in the center.

These are just a few....:laugh::laugh:

cheers

Maybe you just do the wheelie? Not like its illegal or risking you property and health.
People still tell me to do em with the stretch and 240, I just say I'm not good enough rider.
