Get a factory service manual, they tell you where everything goes. I highly recommend it. After you have been in your engine 6 or so times you will not need it any longer...
I have a Clymer manual. I was looking for it under the tranny section. I did not think about the clutch section...since it came out when I pulled out the main shaft.
...and you are correct, the manual has been worth its weight in gold.

Clymer's is one thing, the factory manual -- while more expensive -- for your SPECIFIC bike, is worth it's weight in gold. I've tried to use clymers before on my HD, it's better at shimming up my work bench than as a reference for working on the bike. On the other hand, the factory manuals for my Gixxer and Softail are covered in greasy fingerprints from heavy use.
