with kawasaki's new flagship monsters collecting dust while busas
STILL sell like crazy, do you think Suzuki will just keep selling it AS IS? Why change it if it's still selling very well and people ignoring the so called competition? if I were suzuki I'd leave it alone until sales drop. all that retooling would be costly. it's all about the bottom line

This year or max. next year we will see the new machine , the busa's engine we are using right now , hasn't got the Euro-3 standart so if Suzuki wants to sell busa in Europe , they have to reform the engine .

i dunno..... still not seeing a reason why they have to "improve" the busa at all. so, they update the engine with some extra part for euro compliance, they STILL don't have to touch anything else. kinda got me worried

This year, and it will be BIG

If there's not a change for 07 it will be intertesting how Suzuki and Kawasaki "pitch" their bikes on their respective websites and in ads....

I think the 14 isn't selling because of the lack of aftermarket parts. Although some of us leave our Busas stock, many more turn to the aftermarket for either cosmetic mods or performance mods. With that said, one can make a Busa look FAR better than the 14 (although that isn't very difficult to do

) and one can also make a Busa alot faster than the 14.
Although they are very close in stock form, not many of us leave them that way. Once the aftermarket catches up to the 14 I think its sales will improve. It may not trump the Busa, but it'll do much better than it is doing now.

I took a ride with a buddy that just bought a black 14 yesterday, and as we pulled into one of rest stops, a mini-market/service station, there was a group of motorcyclists there, cooling off. As we came to a stop, I heard someone say "Hayabusa!" Not one mention of the 14. A legend takes time to build

. +1 on the styling; as we parked next to each other, I thought to myself no contest.

The hayabusa is just so synonamous with speed.Just like a toyota supra.Even if its stock people will ALWAYS notice it.And the fact that it looks so different compared to other sportbikes helps out too.The 14 is just like every other sportbike out there.Honestly i think the seat makes it look so much more like the katana.

Maybe it will remain the same like the Acusa NSX or the Yamaha V-Max??? I'll wait to see official 07 pics then I'll buy whichever I like. I can't wait! Changes or not, when will we see the 07's?

yet, didn't kaw work hard to make their new 14 NOT look like every other bike? front end get up? I've heard the talk, and read the rumors.... but business logic dictates that SUZ doesn't HAVE to up the Busa line at all... since there is still no Busa "Killer", just a busa equal.

Ain't broken? Don't fix it. -- returns the highest profit margin

Don't let the legendary name fade while it still means something. Keep the lineag of fastest production bike alive before the name gets tarnished with all the negatives that can be said about it after remaining the same for 7 years.

I can see Zuk waiting till 08 to release the next gen.

AMA racers Mat Mladin and Aaron Yates (about as close to Suzuki R&D as any of us will get) have CLEARLY stated new GSXR1000 for 2007. Most of the engineering is prolly concentrated there right now.

At the very least I hope Suzuki updates the computer and radial brakes/master cyclinder.

I usually have the passenger seat on, more comfortable for Sue. But I had the hump on last wk. when she was down and meet her in town. There were a couple of other bikes there(guys I didn't really know) and mine was freshly polished. She walks over, looks @ the other bikes, then @ the Busa. Looks @ me and sez, "That just looks F###ing mean, big and mean". They just looked @ her, me, than the bike and didn't say a word. Than she started flirting like we just met. They just kept looking. It was priceless. But she was right, they are mean looking.
