Ok, total newbie still only second season riding, problem is im throttle happy, and scared to death of wheelies, what sprockets can i get in front and rear to help keep front end down? I dont care about drag racing and hole shots or anything so that im not worried about, i know there is prolly a post on this if anyone links it to me great if not just post me the number of teeth on both front and rear and if i need a new chain with stock set up not extended at all. Maybe even recomend me a manufac.

Thanks all

Stock gearing on a GEN I is 17/40. You can go to a 38 or 39 rear. That will help some with the wheelie.

Or, go with an 18 on the front.

a couple of twinkies might help keep that front end down..

good advice above ..down in back or up in front.

twinkies?? im a newb, you got a post for lango ? So i dont have to sit here and try to figure it out? lol Thanks for the quick responses.

oh yeah, will stock chain work with this? going a couple down in rear or front? and will i notice i difference in riding? handling etc?

Twinkies I believe was just a reference for you to get a couple more pounds on...put a lil more belly on that tank and it helps to keep the front wheel down...

Yes the stock chain will work. If you go down in the rear or up in the front, the wheelbase will be a little shorter so the turn-in will be a little quicker but I am not sure that it would be very noticeable.

LOL,
Your choice. If I remember correctly 1 up in the front equals 2 down in the back, that may not be quite right tho. Age creepin on me.

ok so i guess ill go get a 18tooth for the front! any adjusting anywhere i need to do or just install and go?

twinkies!! yea it was a poor attempt at humor. 18t in the front should fix you up if your looking for the cheapest way, like the guy above said it will also shorten your wheelbase but probably not enough to notice much difference in the twisties. IMHO i would change the back sprocket(will cost a little more)down a few(2-3)teeth which would make your gearing better for keeping the front wheel down but also it will make your wheelbase longer helping even more with the wheelie thing.

You will have to adjust your chain. Not a big deal and I'm sure there are instructions for that if you don't know. Do a search, I'm sure it will show up. It's my understanding that changing a tooth up front is like changing 2.5 teet in the back.
