What tires used at Road Atlanta Race

I watched the rerun of the Suzuki National Atlanta Road Race last night on ESPN2 and the race weather raining and lots of water on the track.I want to know what tires where the motorcycles mounted with?I like the handling that those tires did in the wet.Any information is welcome.

Thnks guys, this was the second year in a row that hardware problems kept us from a top 3 finish.......Guess it's our time in 2000

Look to be doing some superbike events in Texas along with some wera/ccs and AMA events for the coming year. I'll keep you informed, so you guys can ride to Busa's to the track and watch!

There were several flavors from just 2 tire companies (Dunlop & Michelin):

Dunlop std 207 rain tire
Dunlop World Supersport 207 Rain tires
Michelin rain.

Then only one you could buy is the std Dunlod 207 rain tires. All the others were specials. Dunlop even cut additional grooves in our WSS rain tires in an effort to keep up the the michelin boys.

We had the new Dunlop 207 * (star) tire mounted on rims, but were never able to use them. The pits are was like a lake, rained the entire 4 days we were there. Not a great weekend race, we qualified 2nd then a warm up crash burnt out the clutch, we finished 7th.
