What's your busa weigh?

Took my 08 busa to the scrap yard to weigh it. Was curious what I weighed wet weight.

It weighed in at 480lbs and fuel light was on. With me on it and geared up she said it fluctuated from 600-620lbs. Their scale does 20lb increments.

I honestly should be 155 according to my bathroom scale. Not a precise weight on a scrap scale but at least I've got an idea.

How? Did it have plastics on it? On a certified scale at the local minisprint track my '08 is 550.2 lbs level full of fuel, with an aftermarket exhaust system.

Hard to say how accurate those scales are in reality.

I have a Gen I and it has been lightened a ton down to 485lbs full tank. That includes what weight has been added back with whatever parts. I used calibrated bathroom scales for both front and rear wheels of the bike. I also measured every single item down to the ounce. On my worksheet I lost 65lbs weighing each part with a calibrated hanging fish scale which matched the bathroom scales.

Typically Gen Is are 550lbs full of fluids.

that scale is WAY off!

I suppose I'll try the other yard down the road. If both scales show same I guess I got a light one haha

I'll try and get mine weighed.

I'd guess its lighter than most on here,
and I only weight 80kg without my bike gear on.

No front subframe, very light headlight, alloy bars, one top yoke not two, Cut down front guard, light aftermarket mirrors, alloy bar ends, GSXR single seat tail, Alloy cans, no rear pegs or hangers, no tool kit / grab rail, mini indicators, etc etc etc....

80kg / 175 lb rider.

No offense but there's no way In hell your busa weighed under 500lbs

Figures the scrap yard scale is off so they pay significantly less for the junk people bring in and turn even more of a profit.

mine was 507 half full with a few weight saving items...Marvic wheels, titanium full system, etc

The Gen 2's with aftermarket exhaust and a light battery weigh 505 at the certified scale at the strip. Mine weighed 465 with lots of light stuff. I weighed 175 in gear which is accurate so I felt like the scale was correct.

I weighed my 2013 just last week for the first time; Brocks CT Ti full exhaust, ( 8 1/4 lbs vs 45 lbs) par valve & reeds removed, foot peg weights, half tank of fuel. The scales were just certified, bike weight was 520 lbs, I weigh 200# in full set of Dainese Seca Evo leathers boots gloves helmet. I find it hard to believe that without a LOT of hacking and expensive mods like BST wheels ect.. that there many Busas under the 500 lb mark.

My 2011 weighs 494.4 pounds dry. I have a Yoshimura header with a Hindle titanium can, 12 cell lithium ion battery and a GSXR1000 tail section installed.
