when will the kaw be out

It will be at the show in Spain in Sept. After that Kawasaki dealers will be taking orders and the price list will be out then. You can bet it will be in line with the XX and Busa. The first deliveries are due in March 2000. Enjoy while you can. The Bus stops here.

If its like the zx11 with spun rod bearings and busted cases from a wimpy tranny they can have them....been there and done that...they`re junk. If not for the Z-1 no one would know what a kawa was. Pick up the paper and look and see how many kawa`s are running and qualifying in pro-stock. Bet there will not be any zx whatevers there for a long time. By the way I`ve had by my count 13 kawa`s in my life time and Z-1 was last good thing they made.

Hey CBXChris,

Tell me, how many GSX-R based motors are qualified in Pro-Stock? It's all about mountain motors and cc's, and unfortunately, they just don't make any of them like they used to!

cc for cc the gsxr engine is a faster engine.....not better than a roller bearing gs engine. The cranks break on gsxr engines when a large enough engine is put on them and the tranny`s will not hold up. But we are only talking about what`s fast. Look at a pro stock engine--they do not use stock heads...they`re billet. I`m not against one brand or another...had around 6 or 7 z-1`s..best engine ever made. Not arguing about handling....if you want to go fast straight line you had better be on a suzuki since around 1980 its that plain and simple.

Man,look at all these Kaw people pin there hopes on some Messiah, this is some funny poop, you guys better wait until you get your hands on the real thing, instead of all this shoulda, woulda, coulda BS,quit dream racing.

Speed, calm yourself. We are just enjoying a little motorcycle talk here. Nothing to wet your pants about. Why are non Suzuki riders here? Read the main page of this site. We are here to talk high performance motorcycles. So grow up and get over it.

When I speak of engine failures I mean when highly modified....I have a busa with 2 miles apart in garage now....take a wild guess what is happening to it. The blackbird will NOT hold up when modified and if you think a zx11 will give it a try. If you ride a stock engine thats for riders not racers. I have a stock busa that am in process of putting pipe and injection remapping on and have asked for advice on remapping....I don`t know it all but after 25 years of bikes you do learn a few things and yes this busa is to ride. put some compression in it. The first thing to go on the race busa was the injection...its to small.

Kong, Right on. I couldn't have said it better myself.
cbxchris, 15000 miles and many many trips to redline and no problems with my ZX11. Yes the Busa is faster, but that dosn't make all other bikes junk. Wake up!
Kamikaze, You have got the Worlds Fastest Production bike for about the next 9 months. Enjoy. Who was it again that held that crown since 1990? (definately not Suzuki) I guess you have been waiting for your Messia for over 10 years. Its finally here, and 9 months later, Poof, its gone again. Well, 9 months is better then nothing. So chill out and enjoy.

Kamikaze, what parts that are actually "stock" are you referring to on those Pro Stock bikes? Engine, trans, clutch, tires, chassis, suspension, gas tank... or should I say fuel cell, carbs, wheels, brakes, etc...?? I mean, I can go to my local dealer and buy those bikes, right? How about any of those parts? No relevance at all to the bikes we are buying now, nor should those bikes influence our buying decisions for today. Rather a closer look should be made to the Prostar 600 cc classes and Pro Superbike classes.... then ask yourself who rules those? Don't burn your brain too much on that one..... can you say Green?

At least those bikes resemble somewhat of the type of machinery you can buy today. O.E.M. blocks, trans, frames, heads, etc.

When all the dust is settled and everyone has had their say we will come to the conclusion that we are all having fun with our motorcycle no matter what brand no matter what cc's no matter how fast.So next year's models will come out and everyone will ooh and wow at the latest technology.I wish the Kawi motorcycle good luck, from a guy who loves motorcycles. We only have one chance on this earth so live good, have fun and let the good times roll, hey have fun gals and guys.See ya!!!!My 2cents

In Prostock Drag racing the motors that are used are based on the old 2 valve GS Suzuki motors.Of course they are aftermarket Billet blocks and heads but they are based on the Suzuki motors. They have tried to using other manufacturers motors but the Suzukis are the easiest to modify, parts are cheaper and they hold up better with out breaking.

Ahh Who gives a fly'n @#$%#@$%$#. There is a reason for Suzukie&honda boards... Go to the kow board for that info.

The only reason you are here is because you are a wanna be and gotta hang out with the big daddy Hayabusa!

Just jealous that your favorite brand is no longer on top. If Kow or honda is a faster brand why did the do it before now... CUZ DEY COULDNT probably heheheeheheh

And dont give me this wait till next year heheheh its to late! run what you brung & hope you brung enough.

I am very happy with my Hayabusa and I wouldnt personally trade it for any other bike, though I almost bought an R1 before the Hayabusa came out. :)

So take your jealousy, pout'n A#%$$# back your favorite brand board to cry and bash.

NUFF SAID !

Last time I looked if you were behind me you lost........don`t care where it comes from or what it takes..green red black or blue. I don`t even look at 600`s..except at the road races. It all goes back to where this started if you DO want to ride a modified bike its got to be a suzuki. If it takes a 1600cc engine to win hope you`ve got one to or you lost....stock don`t hold water in racing. If you do have modified bikes like this you have to have a stock one to ride and now for me that is a busa.

Dudes whats up? How many people actually have gone 200? I hit 180 so far once and If I got caught I`d be walking instead of riding.Personally I bought the bike for the big torque and its cool looks.I am totally surprised at all the compliments the bike gets even the Harley guys like it and we all know how amazing that is.The Kawi may be faster "may" but I doubt it will have the low end that the busa has.On the street big torque rules and I`m not talking Harley here. It`s nice to be able to twist the throttle and go not having to down shift three gears.Speed doesn`t kill its the sudden stop !

Looks like more lies are being fabricated about the king of speed. For one thing Suzuki has always copied the Kawasaki lead in engine design and inovation, and something that few here seem to want recognize is that Suzuki is owned by Kawasakis parent company the Kawasaki Heavy Industries giant corperation! Ignorence runs rampet here on this site.

Hey ZX9,Pro Stock is the premier of Motorcycle drag racing,I don't ride nothing smaller than 1100 cc anyway,so why would I want to watch some 600's,or 900's for that matter

Kami, I'm sorry you ain't got no stinkin' interest in them smaller bikes. (cracks me up....lol!)

As far as my comments about the Prostar classes....if you had actually comprehended the intent of my original post....these bikes resemble more of what a buyer can see at his local dealer. Not much resemblance in the Pro Stock bikes. Let me ask you this, why your interest in Pro Stock. After all they run 750's, right? lol........

As far as watching 600's and 900's, you may want to... those guys could teach you a few things!

Who cares!!!!! The 2000 Hayabusa will have 192hp and a foutytwo pound weight reduction according to Suzuki secret(0013) sources, Maybe they will need a ZX14!!
