which sprocket?

i'm goin to the track tomoro and want to drop a tooth or 2 in the front....brocks suggests a 16 but my local shop only has a 14 and 15...do you think these would be too much? should i just wait and get the 16?

wow 14 would be pretty small dunno if id want my chain wrapped that tight but i cant say for true. i run 16/42 and love the response so id guess a 15 with a stock rear would be similar in responsivness

1 down in front= 2 down in rear. That's a big jump. You will definitely notice the change in responsiveness. IMO, I would wait for the 16.

actually 1 down in the frt is the same as 2.5 up in the rear.

i ride -1 +2 all the time. it is quicker for sure. still totally controllable.... well almost that is

I'm running 16/42 for the track. I would not go any smaller than 16 on the front. Make the rest of the change on the back.

I just added 2 to the rear and its nice... not too extreme.
