Which TRE

I have found info on both of these TREs, which one is better, Ivan's or the Nikko G.  Thanx in advance for the input.

JC, thanx for the reply, I didn't say that I needed one, I was just asking the question. No I don't spend very much of my time at 186+. I have read, however, that there is some benefit in the first 3 gears to having a TRE because of the way the bike handles the timing there. I don't know enough about it, so that is why I asked the question.

Actully i have neeb back and forth about TRE's I bought one of ivans and it really didnt do much for my bike in the lower gears, so I sold it to my buddy for $20. On his bike, he got a lot of power from it. I then decided to make my own switch tre just to compare if there was power or not useing it. Without the TRE I can take from a roll and get into it pretty good without the front wheel coming off. with the tre switched on, the front wheel comes up constantly in 1st gear. It scared the Shiznit out of me the first time it did it. I was so used to it not coming up. I was going down a slight hill at about 40 and then just twisted back like I always do, but this time the front wheel was off the ground, I let off to set it back down then pulled back some more hit 9k and it was back up.

I don't know if different TREs work differently on different bike, but that was the case for me. The IVANS TRE did nothing for my bike but did wonders for my buddy. the one I made does wonders for mine.

You have an 04 so with a PC3R there is no need for one except to go faster than 186.
That is why you got the answer I gave

The service manager at the shop where I bought my new 04 said that the TRE would help smooth out the idle, in addition to increasing top speed. My bike is doing quite well without the TRE mod. Don't think I'll be investing in one.

JC, I don't have a PCIIIR. I have the USB version, so I can't adjust the timing via power commander. Now I will admit that I bought the PC prior to doing any research, prolly should have bought the R version. Will be adding HMF dual high mount exhaust as a winter mod. Do you guys recommend switching the the PCIIIR and can I still control that from my laptop? Thanx

yes you can, yes you should

usb is fine if you will not be on the track all the time. you just need a good custom map.
