DONALD dialed a 10.05, cut a 0.103, ran a 10.143 @ 138.44
KEVIN dialed a 10.03, cut a 0.228, ran a 10.085 @ 133.47

donald was first to the traps, but was .09 off his dial in
kevin was second, but was only .05 off his dial in

ET isnt who gets there first, its whoever is closer to the dial in with out going faster right??

You've got it right. Donald wins. First one there without red lighting or breaking out is the winner.

i thought it was whoever was closest to the dial in? they always say.. IN ET CLASS, YOU DONT RACE THE OTHER LANE.. YOU RACE YOUR CLOCK

I just reread the last line of your original statement.

It is actually who gets there first without going quicker that the dial in or redlighting.

Driver 1 can run a 10.00 on a 10.00 dial in. But, If he waits 10 seconds on the line before he leaves, Driver 2 can run a 18.00 second pass on a 10.00 dial in and beat him. (as long as he leaves in less than 2 seconds lol)

That has to be the most confusing sport...lol. I am gonna stick to track and field. Once the gun goes off...as long as we dont react faster than 0.10 seconds...the first man or woman to the finish line is the "WINNAH"!

Now I am curious about drag racing...lol. I am starting to study this stuff....

The best form of study would be to actually race. Come to the track and it will all make sense.

Pacific Raceways is a little jog from Bellingham, but they are having a test and tune next Wednesday. Gates open at 4:00, and bikes are usually running by 4:45. It's not actual racing, just running for time but you will see how it works. All types of bikes are there, but there are normally more busa's than anything else.

GETTING THE BETTER LIGHT IS IMPORTANT IN ALL RACING .i SAW SEVERAL bikes in prostock lose that went faster last nhra.
