So am in the middle of swapping back on my flamed plastics and i find this while checking the color of my black for the tank solo and windscreen, Plastics are aftermarkets, windscreen is factory suzuki, screen fits the stock nose perfect, fits the aftermarket with a 1/8" gap all the way around and the curves dont match(ie it wont push down in)
Anyone else ever have this, the windscreen i had on it fit perfect, not sure what brand it was though and sold it last fall

Now i'm kind of stuck, thinking about just doing the oem's in black and calling it a day since they fit and look good, plus my oe tail i shaved the frankenstein bolts, i like how these look, but dont want it to look half:moon:

Slowly worked some material off the "mounting flange" i'll call it, the actual outer edge where the windscreen meets the nose is to wide for the nose so it wont let it drop down any further to close the gaps

my sportech windscreen need quite a bit of surgery before it fit on my 06, and i was happy with it. i still dreaded taking it off because the holes for the bolts never quite lined up properly

My sportech carbon windscreen fit perfect. Those plastics look good to me. I would like to see some pics please.:beerchug:

They have alot of issues but once they're on the bike unless your looking for issues they dont look to bad. They do need a really good cleaning and polishing though

Don't be too critical just yet! Put it all together, clean it up, then look it over. It may not be as bad as you think once it's all together.

The flame scheme looks good to me!

Plastics look good on the floor ...but just remember ..Custom and after market sometimes comes with small "Figure-it-out-em's"

After doing some reading and seeing some photos i'm thinking the screen i have now is infact a sporttech, seems like the fitment issues are identical, kinda weird it fits the stock nose so well but not the aftermarket, may see if i can make this happen:whistle:

You guys gotta understand the paint on teh windscreen is not finished, the black plastics got taken off the bike back in october and have been sitting around getting dusty and handled without being cleaned, adding that the plastics look like **** doesnt solve my problem of why the windscreen wont fit

So it is infact a oe suzuki screen, issue was in the curvature of the nose, had a hair more meat on the clutch side then the other that was holding the screen from dropping down, made a template off the good side and then just took material off till i had two symetrical sides:thumbsup:
