Why slag the others......?

It seems to me that too many Busa fans out there are just a little too quick to slag off the opposition.
How many of us had ZZR's, ZXR's CBRXX's...etc before stepping up to our Hayabusa's. I personally had a Kawasaki ZZR1100 which I chopped against my Busa. I loved the ZZR, it sounded great and had more poke than I ever needed. Now, owning a Hayabusa, I realise where the ZZR's weaknesses where. But that doesn't mean that the ZZR turned to crap overnight.
Come on guys.......The Busa is 'THE' ultimate (at the moment), but I still miss the ZZR sometimes.

Turbo1300 - can you shoot me an email so I can talk to you about the event next month. I don't think I've heard anything about it although it looks like I may be going to some races in Hallett on the 22nd of Aug with an XX owner. Thanks - mailto:tds@brightok.net

The voice of maturity from Big Pete. These guys are children Pete. They can't be talked to unless it's to slap each other on the back and tell each other what a great bike they have. I feel sorry for anyone who owns one of these bikes and wants to talk to a peer. They'll have to learn baby talk so they can understand what their fellow owners are saying.

Goo Goo, Gaa Gaa, Burp, Vagas Dude, same to you child molester, I mean Kawabuser.

Jamie

hope your not replying to me also there jamie. since i'm on this topic also...if you are you've takin me all wrong....you know if you be mature in the way you respond, then don't do it at all...you struck a nerve with some of these guy's and it's probably best you lay low for a while...get off the poop list. good luck...frank

When this board first started it was great, a Hayabusa forum for proud owners like myself. Unfortunately, it seems to have contracted the typical newsgroup virus of each topic being taken over by the "My bike is better than your bike" mentality. Whilst the odd post in that topic is unavoidable, and sometime welcome, it's getting a bit pathetic.
Yes, I am a mature rider, but even I still get a 'buzz' from a quick blast on the Hayabusa. But that doesn't mean I have no respect for fellow non Busa riders. We all have one aim.....RIDE FREE.

If anybody wants to disagree thats fine...freedom of speech and all that....but there is a difference between disagree and argue.

Sermon Over :)

You're right on Big Pete. There's a ton of great motorcycles out there and the Hayabusa is just one of them. Lets not catch the paranoia typical of a lot of R1 owners - its not pretty.

"it's not pretty"........of course you mean the paranoia, not the Hayabusa :)

I'd have to agree with frank, jamie you tend to piss people off with the manner in which you reply. There's a right way and a wrong way to do things, and i've seen you post on here quite often, and the way your doing it is pissing people off.You can voice your opinion in a way that shows maturity and intelligence without provoking others, and we would respect you alot more if you did.Think about it, these guys really enjoy the busa, and it IS the heat right now, so you can't blame them for thier enthusiasm over such an incredible bike.I'm not trying to tell how to post, and hell, you might not like what someone has to say, and that's cool too, i'm just saying you might want to try using a little tact.

Just my .02 cents
Tommy

Tommy,

I'm tired of hearing about rumors of hp and top speed and quarter mile times too. However when someone here says anything positive about a bike other than a Busa. The record playing in the background screeches and the party stops. Then everyone begins the one line posts. They have the Pee Wee Herman, "I know you are, but what am I" mentality written all over them. It's these people I take issue with.

Hey, I stopped what I was doing, when I saw the Busa on extreme machines, to watch it. I have respect for any bike that goes that fast or quick in stock form. However, I have no respect for the never-modifiers in the group who think that no one else can go that fast too. Hell there in Sport Rider they had an old GPZ750 turbo going nearly 200. My point is there are a hell of a lot of ZX11 on the road, 10 years worth. There are only a three years CBRXXs and only one years worth of Busas. Those who've had the 11 for 10 years are modifying and we've seen the power levels you guys make and we've seen more too. We've seen 190 just like you. My total investment on my bike is a lot less than a new Busa. And I'm the underdog, I like that. I like the look of disbeleif when they lose. I like when they look down at their gas tank like maybe they're tring to see if something is wrong with their bike. They know they should be the fastest that's what the dealer told them.

For the naysayers who've said the ZX11 can't be modified to your power levels. Call Super Bike Mike in Fla. He makes 198 RWHP with a 1298cc ZX11. Yes I know a GS1150 beat him at bike week, I was talking about old ZX11s though. Back in 1990 Muzzy built a ZX11 w/port cleanup, mild cams, pipe, and no balancer. It went 185 on dirt. They said a real street is worth 5mph more. How's that for mild? When the ZX11 came out in 1990 how many "stock is faster than modified" people with big heads do you think lost to a souped up GSXR1100 or a similar ZX10?

I think I've posted here all of 5 times. I've watched you guys flame other nonBusa guys for months. I find that when people get upset when you critique them it's because the truth hurts.

Instead of using your collective powers to bash other bikes and slap yourselves on the back, why don't you see what it takes to go 200, then when you get there, see what it takes to go 210. Tell each other what works and what doesn't, not just "yep, we've got this years king, aren't we cool?" All that needs said to ZX12 guys is "time will tell, my friend."

Jamie

Sounds like you have some catching up to do.
We already know what it takes to go 200 - it's called the Hayabusa. Feast your eyes on this 200mph Hayabusa: http://www.qsl.net/n5mya/200_up.mov

And this isn't the only Hayabusa to hit 200 either. If you spent less time whining and more time educating yourself you would already know this.

At the risk of encouraging the flames, I have to admit that I agree with Jamie...

I came to this board months ago looking to talk bikes, and everyone threw a fit when I asked them to make some comparos against the XX and Busa. I had legit questions, as I had not yet ridden a Busa, but only had the opportunity to sit on one in a dealership.

Boy, they didn't like those questions, and it turned out that my first love for Honda motorcycles outweighed my desire to have another 15 or 20 horsepower (in stock form... Turbo the XX and...)

Anyway, I am not looking to start another flame war. I just had come with the idea that I would get to talk to a bunch of Busa riders about their (very respectable) machines. They freaked. Then they freaked again when they found out I was female, then they freaked again when they found out that I owned adult websites. When some asked me for the website address, others freaked yet again when I told them the addresses, accusing me of spam.

And all I really wanted to do was talk bikes! The arguments got so hot that I actually threatened to kill some of them! Not proud of that, but man, it's pretty silly when the flames get that hot over my questions about how the Busa and XX compare.

Man, I have never been able to say the right thing, Jamie, so the best you can do it just stop sweatin' it and ride... Remember that somewhere, somebody is going to have a problem with something you say no matter what...

Todd, are you going to Soul Brothers next month in Ok.? Do you know of any good places to stay that are close to all the events.

Jamie, i agree with you on a the old bike versus new bike thing.

My point was this, stock for stock the busa is faster. Now i will admit alot of these guy's don't want to go screwing around with thier bikes, and for 11,000, i really can't say i blame them. Now for the other guys who happen to have a few more coins to spend, i see these guys doin the mod's.

This is true as well, there are ALOT of older modified bikes that are fast as hell, no doubt about it.Hell, hiabuser has a 91 GSXR-750, with a 1216 motor stuffed in it that has 160RWHP and 93ft. lbs of torque, and damn is it ever fast, but his busa is faster.do you realize there are guys in here with busa's that have damn near 180hp, with only a pipe, remap and filter/airbox mod,and can go 200mph plus??

jamie, i don't have a thing in the world against any other bike, hell i like most all of them.I've had a few different brands myself, loved them all, and i'm not denying that Kawasaki has made some incredibly fast bikes. But this is THE BUSA SITE, so you have to expext a little brand bashing here and there, don't sweat it.We hear where your coming from, but i think if you want kawasaki worship, this ain't the place.

And josie, stop stirring up trouble woman
i'll have to send you a mean e-mail,LOL

I'm with you on the Harley thing. They're not my cup of tea at all. We call them 2 wheeled tractors here.....but I'm not slagging them...just prefer a real bike :)

You know what, heres how it used to be. All us Jap bike owners would stick together and talk trash about Harleys and in turn the Harley guys [ who started the thing to begin with ] would talk trash about our rice burners, Jap junk etc. What happened? Are we losing our minds or what. That used to great fun.

It is a funny thing that the most flack about the Busa is from the rice burner goup of ZX11 owners. When I picked up the bike in April I really expected some bull from Harley owners and the guys riding the Honda XX Blackbird. Well at this point not one guy on a Harley has said a negative word(even a few admitted if they bought a JAP bike it would be a Busa). Two years ago Honda released the XX Blackbird and dethroned the Kawasaki ZX11 as "King". It must have shattered the ego's of some(not all) of these ZX11 owners to the point of no return. It really must have taken the greatest toll on the ZX11 owners with "mild" engine mods, that a stock Suzuki is so awsome out of the crate.

So if you can't take the Kaw Abuse go away to your beloved ZX12 site.

Take a lesson from the XX Blackbird owners who have been nothing but gracious and interested. Honda has always produces a class bike so it must say a little about the people that buy them. Well if Kawasaki could only check resume's before making sales they could avoid selling to some ___________.
