Will I get my future Busa ripped off?

I live in Wash, DC, in an area which borders Maryland, which is mostly houses, unlike the concrete jungle of the inner city. I plan to buy a Busa, but am very nervous about leaving it on the street (I will buy alarm & locks). I thought about parking it in the back yard, but I can see myself dumping it in the grass when trying to U-turn it out. This is something I've never thought about and can prevent me from buying my prized Blue Busa. There's really no-where else I can park it. Son-of-a-!!! Any suggestions. Am I being paranoid? Please help if you can.

I hear ya! I am in an apartment complex and I am looking at the trees next to the parkinglot and I am thinking about painting my own parking lines next to a big one!!!! Did you find onw yet???? I saw your post about finding one online... did it go well?

Hi Wannabusa. I think I have one for 11,000 otd! I'm just sh*tting trying to think of a safe place to park it! I may have to park it in the backyard and risk having it take a dirt-nap. Thanks for your input.

Chris-I'll keep that in mind!

For your information I use to live in a Apartment in Sunnyvale,Ca. and I had Five locks on my older 89 GSXR1100,A big Rock U-Lock on the Front wheel going to a electrical pole, a chain lock going through the top of the handle bar back down through the front wheel,Front standard key lock, rear cable lock from the back wheel to the front wheel and a cable lock through my bike bag and they still stole my bike.My neighbor said she called the cops when they heard the crooks banging on the front locks, took them about 1/2 hour or so to cut all the locks and punch out the Suzuki IGN lock/key and use a screw driver to start my bike. If they want it they'll get it.I was lucky because the older 89GSXR needed time to warm up the engine to run correctly and they flooded the bike trying to start it and the Sunnyvale cops were able to catch the crooks. A good sign to see if your bike will be stolen is to have a locked Bike bag on your bike and to make sure you remember how it was put on your bike, most crooks would lift up the bag to see how many locks or if you have a alarm on the bike and they will bring back the correct tools to take the bike. I remembered when I'd get home from work and notice that my bike bag would be pulled up part way and I did not catch it that someone was casing out my bike. Try the X10.com cameras and see if it will help you or use a baby monitor to keep and ear out on your bike. Good Luck

Keep it in your back yard,if no other secure place is available.Get a cover. If you have a fence with a gate, lock it.As far as a tip over,Get a 1"thk X 6"wd X 6" lg piece of wood to place under the kickstand(I carry one in my backpack). Please remember to leave the bike in 1st gear, rolled forward when parked.Or,we will be seeing you post a thread about it falling off it's stand.
Good luck

I live in NY and the there are no locks that will work. Theives here get 4,500 thousand for stolen Busas. The only thing I can say is buy insurance. My bike is in a gararge truck blocking it with proxcimity alarm. Plus an alarm for the garage door with battery back up sound sensers and six locks on the door. Plus just got the baby monitors. Parnoid? No, lost a bike from the gararge once. Now it is just a lot harder for them to get it. If it is seen it will be gone.

You mean your gonna leave a Hayabusa outside......in the sun.....in the rain.....expossed to criminals stealing it and dogs peeing on it?
Little kids are going to use it as a baseball catcher behind home plate.
They really should screen potential Busa owners before they buy them.

Pull it through your front\back door and into the living room. Thats where they belong, in the air conditioning and with their family. I watch TV with mine and I leave the TV on when I leave the house, she might get lonely. I put a blanket over her, in case she gets cold. :)

Get a 5x10 Storeroom near your house. Then you have a place to keep oil, tools, and work on it too. Around Central PA we pay about $35 a month for one. Alternatively make a deal with RobBase to keep it in his garage in Hayattsville.

DON'T leave it on the street.

you want to keep your bike, get two pit bulls and tie them to the front tire and rear, buy a rifle with scope that way you can pick off the piece of **** ****s when they try to steal your bike, your dogs will love you as they wont have to kill to eat.....(grin)

I would never park it on the street, let alone leave it out in the rain. Covered or not. Get an inexpensive tool shed that you
can make into your "garage" in the back. It's cheaper than you think (couple 100) and will protect the bike from the elements. Asthetically you can find descent ones. You might also want to pour a small slab of concrete to create this. Sounds like a lot of work but you'll sleep a whole lot better, outta sight outta mind.

I don't think that's overdoing it for a 10k+ bike.
