Will the 08 ZX14 Be Updated? or will it be 09?..

Whats a zx14?

Kawi was revamping the ZX12 every 3 or 4 years or so trying to hit the mark. When that didn't work they came out with the zx14. So every indication is that they would most likely spruce it up in the next few years. But then Suzuki might release a new Limited Edition Hayabusa with god knows what? Yamaha might come out with a new V-max, Honda might come out with a new? Quit worrying about it and get on with it.

No.
Kawasaki will no longer produce the ZX-14 after 2009. The ZX-14 was released not only to beat the Busa but to also give the ZX-12 riders what they wanted. More torque, comfort, better drag bike ... and all the other good stuff. Kawi has done that and have decided to make the 10R their flagship bike.

All the surplus ZX-14s they haven't sold will be melted down to prduce more of these (mainly because they sell better):

If Kawi was smart

, all they'd have to do in order to keep competitive with the new busa is to come up with some sort of configuration like the A-B-C mode that the 08 busa has. As of now, a ZX14 owner is almost forced to remove the secondary butterflies and install PC and pipe just to be able to have decent low end grunt in any RPM range below 6,000.

THey will have to do something, with nre emisions guidelines taking effect. I don't think they will be able to keep it the same

They're so close now , How hard should it be to squeeze 2-3 more HP and a few more foot pounds of torque . Then in 2010 Suzuki will increase the Busa output to up them by 1 .and so on , and so on ......................

Yes, I was fortunate enough to go to the (2) day world press release for the ZX-14 in 2006 along with all the other media guys. The production manager stated "Kawasaki is on a (2) year revamp on all our models to remain competitive", from 2006 on out. So the answer is yes, 2008 will be upgraded, to what who knows.

Dude Let it go. Just be patient until you see a test or maybe one in person. For all we know the thing may tear a$$. Look at the new GSXR. On Paper it appears to be an overweight literbike with a Hideous exhaust system and everything I read says it is anything but! The new bike promises to put out more stock (even with the Euro 3 emissions) than a current bike with a pipe and PC. I am expecting big things once this thing hits the ground running. I think a lot of people would be swayed just by seeing it in person.
