Trying to upload a 1.6 gig video to youtube and my laptop keeps shutting down the hard drive after so many minutes. Yes, I know I should already know this, but how do I turn this off? I dont want to sit here for 225 minutes.

For Vista but I'm sure its close to making the change you want.
Right click
Personalization
Go to screen saver
Look at bottom for Change Power Settings
Look to Left side Bar and select "choose when to turn off display"
Choose Never and that should do it.

Well first off get faster internet.. turning off the screen saver wont stop the drives from sleeping.... Might wanna adjust the power settings also..
Just food for thought.

Drives should be under the power settings. I'm not at my Windows 7 machine, so I'm not exactly sure how to get there. Should be able to get there from the control panel.
I got it guys. Lav, I have great download speeds, not so much on uploads. It's loading guys. Just will be a while.

I'm having the reverse problem with windows 7 I can't get the screen saver to come on or get it to hibernate I have googled and still not happening.I have windows 7 on my laptop also but it has no problem hibernating.??? Anyone have a solution?
