HELL OF A LOT BETTER THEN VISTA!!!
I have been testing the 64 Bit on my laptop and the difference is night and day, once you get used to some of the new features its very hard to go back to any other version. I though the auto window resizer deal would be a total gimmick and its proved one of the most user friendly features.

just got it, haven't installed will update after weekend. doing fresh install
I've been running an RC (Release Candidate) version of W7 64-bit and it's light-years ahead of Vista but still has a few minor glitches. IMO, I'd still wait for awhile before upgrading just to be sure there aren't too many bugs in the RTM (Release-To-Manufacture) version. I normally wait till SP1 comes out before moving up....

I'm downloading Windows 7 Ultimate as we speak, I tried a few of the betas and they were mostly great! I'll let you know how well it runs on my system when I'm done with a fresh install.

Hectic, I went from a q9550 oced to the i7. Night and day. This new build of mine is pretty silly. the ssd's really make a big difference too.

Windows 7 requires just about the same amount of system resources as Vista but runs ten times better.

then they came out with XP... I think this is going to be the same deal Vista? 7

Yeah I remember.! ugh!
Last beta testing i was in was for windows Pro and server 2000. We found glitches galore! BUt still felt confident it was better than Workstation and NT4..
Worked with 7 since beta and i would NOT hesitate to roll this out in any size organiation, with proper application testing. But XP compat mode is pretty cool.

MS gave me a hard drive with 7 loaded about a year ago... ran it for a bit but just too busy to really fool around with it very much.. The sent me subsequent RC's with my other stuff... I am getting away from the MAPS program on a couple of my clients this year and going for straight support $$
