im having a real hard time putting my hotbodies windscreen on my k8:banghead: is there any trick that i dont know about? i cant even get the grommets through the windshield without them comming back out!!! i know hotbodies is not the greatest, but heck, i got it for shipping cost. i really love the dark tint look, but if it cant work then i will have to get one that will. any help guru's:please:

I am no mechanical genius so maybe I did it wrong. I ended up putting the grommets in from the back side and pulling them from the windshield side. Be careful you don't rip the rubber. ???

I had the same problem with my Puig DB. It took some time playing and twisting with it to get it to work but when I got it in I never had any noise, vibration ect from it. Dont give up.

If you still having porblems with putting it in try drinking some rum and coke and the go back to the bike but not to much. It work for me

Its a really tight fit, just take your time and dont force or you might crack your windscreen.
WD-40 and a needle nose pliers to get grommets.

:lol:Yes, lots of rum and coke should do the trick.

I also used a small allen wrench to push the grommets through with a little spit with rum and coke. But be very careful with it.

Don't do it dry, get a can of spray silicon and they slide right in.
Never insert things dry.... I thought everyone knew this

i dont know wht the problem is me and twotone put my puig db on in like less than a minute??????

I used glass cleaner to lubricate the gromets and used the bolts to pull the gromets through. With the gromets out put the bolt in through the botom side and thread the bolt in the back side of the gromet then pull and wiggle a little and it will pop right in.

The secret: Have the rubber grommet and screw out and install the windscreen. Twist the screw into the rubber grommet a couple of turns while they are both in your hand. Moisten the rubber and holding only the screw push the rubber grommet into place. This stretches the rubber out so it narrows and slides right in! It is very easy. They work very similiar to the little plastic push pins that hold parts of the fairing on.

the sad thing is... i have been trying to install just the screen without the grommets first, and the fitment is still real hard to get right, i also used the lube:whistle: as soon as i get the grommet in, using the before mentioned tecnique, and try to tighten, the grommet pops back out of the screen:banghead:beerchug:0__s:

I have done this also

theres just too much difference between the hotbodies screen and the factory one, i can install and remove the factory one easy, but the hotbodies just dont have the fit and finnish i need. who makes a good quality screen?

I would NEVER use wd40 on the rubber grommets.. spit, spray silicone (lube), window cleaner will all work without affecting the material..
