I have had my underwing off the day i bought the bike (put on pipe) and liked the way it looked but is it losing stability ??

I have removed mine last week so i can use a trolley jack to lift the rear end to oil the chain while spinning the wheel, I have not been over 80mph since.
I would also be interested if anyone has any stability problems without the little fairing

I seldom ever run the belly wing.
As for stability.... I've not noticed any differences.
I like the way it looks.... but mine bottoms out terribly.

I removed mine more than a year ago. I like the look of a cleaner/emptier tail section. Besides all it ever did was collect chain lube and dirt.

Stability, ha!! That thing is there for looks. Probably gain more performance losing its weight

It doesn't cause any stability problems with it off....it does improve the air flow around the rear tire to reduce "drag" for more top speed

I had to take mine off, can't have it on there if you fit a center stand.

Still rock solid at all speeds.

I pulled mine off due to the bike being lowered as much as it is. With the wife on the back going around any corner it scraps. I cant decide if I like it with it on or off....

What is your purpose for the bike?

If you are doing any kind of TOPSPEED, you want it ON. They did a few tests on the bellywing and the hump. Both added another 4-6mph on the TOPEND of a stock bike.

Otherwise, for everyday riding I don't think it matters....

Now tested without wing, pulled 190 over shap summit in lancashire UK this weekend no stability problems at all
No seat hump fitted either

Hey, wing cutters, where all those wings go?

I`m looking for one...
Mine's a little damaged on the left upper part, too close to the yoshi pipe and it melted a little.

2002 black and blue, I believe its blue.

If you still want it you get it for the price of shipping it, let me know its just collecting dust hear.

It wasnt flat out at 190 but it is the fastest I have been sofar, I had too roll off as the traffic was getting heavy and it was freezing cold. Never tried it with the wing and hump may be later in year.
