Won't Rev just boggs down

Ok i'm going to look at an early Gen1 on Friday. After speaking to the owner he said that the bike will start and tic over, but if you try and rev it, it boggs down and dies. Could it be the fuel pump ?

Yes it could be.
I would also check the TPS too, you can do that by jumping red/white to black/white in the white diagnostic plug under the back seat.
_C00 means TPS is not correct/too low.
-C00 means it is correct, and the dash on the left should go to the top when you rev it, and fall back to center at idle.
And of course any numbers other than 00 after the "C" indicate a code present, which the 99 fuel pump should not have/no code for it if it fails.

I have now seen some better photos of the bike and i'm going to pass on it. It has cracked clocks and an aftermarket undertray. also it has the later gold fork and holes in the side fairing for the sliders. it also has the later exhaust fitted to. So it has to many things wrong with it for what i want. Shame really as it would have been a nice project.
