Hi Guys,As a new owner, for less than the price of a good bottle of liquor,I'm putting it up for suggestions.Yes it's decked, with a hole in the RHS cover, and all the fairing RHS parts are cactus, yet I build up modified bikes,Fully ticketed motorcycle engineer,Over 40yrs of it now;so I'm not shy.Its not bent though, and the wheels are round. So I want your ideas.I saw the ad whilst searching for parts to make up the build of my 1989Gsxr 1100 streetfita which runs gsxr1000K7backend,1098ducati tailpiece against a customised gsf1250 petrol tank. Has any of you transplanted the Hayabusa motor into another frame(I'm no stranger to doing this, yet would love to get advice based on practical experience.)As an over sixty yrs rider, probably won't turbo just now.Do you guys think it's a good or bad idea to transplant.I don't need to,yet that's kinda why I bid on it,for the engine. Now I'm looking at it,just needs a clutch cover,an engine flush, fuel and battery, fork seals ,etc to be rideable(The exhaust and other detached parts all came in a box with the bike.So what do you guys reckon?fix it as a naked Busa or continue with the transplant?

Welcome...judging by the few pictures I see, it will not be a cheap venture to bring it back to life though.
Thank you for your welcome.I pay you respect,as your comments are earnest, and undoubtedly quite right!Yet,tis not often any of us gets the chance to have bigCCs for stupid money, and I am nowadays not riding factory spec bikes very often.Kinda like to draw a sketch of the look of the bike I'm constructing, and work to make the look real. Then sort out the handling and the rideabilty through testing it.Nearby my place is a mountain with 226corners well known to Aussie speedsters. So the bikes I fettle Must handle. Can anyone point me at info,or postings, blogs, whatever that may help.

Looks like a 2008 Hayabusa Gen 2.
Wow, you gonna strip and sell the parts?
Or spend a ton of cash repairing it?
looks a mess . . .

Oh and welcome along (I think?)
Yes,it's a mess.Somebody rode this bike, quite hard,by the looks of the forks and brakes.and I may just use the engine and instruments, exhaust and front end for my 1100 Gsxr fita.So if that happens,is there any stuff you may want to get,First call best chance!as they say,and you made it mate,so let me know.I have always done cheap prices for bits I don't need.

Mate, the postage cost from NSW to NZ is ridiculous, especially on heavy stuff, so thanks for the offer, but I'll pass.
I reckon you should keep your GSXR as it is, and just work on the Busa as a street fighter. The amount of work involved with fitting that engine etc to your GSXR will be huge . . . easier to repair the Busa and then you'll have two bikes instead of one and a bunch of parts lol.
That's my 2c worth anyway.
That was a big drive (900kms) to pick it up.
That's like the entire length of NZ lmao!

Shoot, you'll be ahead even if you throw $4,000 at it! Aftermarket plastics, few new engine covers, blow the dirt out of the cylinders, etc...quite a nice find if you can get the engine running fairly easily!

Hey,I've never been over to your Island.I once read about a speed festival with some kinda street races.Maybe I could bring my bike over there and ride it. Your 2c worth sounds sensible apart from the difference in weight.Loading that bike was a bit heavy for my liking, and the engine looks to fit(although that doesn't mean it does) into the 1100 frame, Streetfita culture holds the old Gixer frame up as a standard classic, and with the really nice Hindle pipe it came with,a PC 5 and AT LEAST $89 worth of dynotime(lol),it's a tasty idea ,having the roll on haulage power of the Busa, installed in something so much lighter. My rolling Gixer minus engine is 78kg .Left naked as it arrived, with no stock junk left on it,A Streetfita Busa is most likely the way to go,to start with. Then it is probably gonna be easy to decide by comparing ,which handles better. Not many guys use big CC bikes around here, due to bumpy and treacherous roads,so my other weapon of choice,an 88 KwakaZX10 with Yoshi 1260 race engine, gets little use, and I know the road is short straits joining corners often with bumpy approach and exits that often run off camber.Light and setup to steer whilst backing in and out of corners spinning the back up,is good fun,and looks mad,I'm told, yet the heavier the bike, the harder it is to manhandle. I'm older now,and the ZX10 dislocates my left shoulder when I hoist it in 3rd, so I'm not keen to make another monster that I have trouble holding onto.May sound a bit out there, yet there are those of us who can't face old age without a bit of fun now and then.Maybe it is a 2nd gen.It says10/07 on the compliance plate.I am not clear about the date of change.Does someone herein know?

Congrats! Nice deal.
Looks like a Gen 2 tail...
Hope you keep us posted on the progress
Thanks,I know nothing about 1300suzuki bikes,so can someone clear that up for me,10/07 is on the Australian compliance plate so could be August 2007-october2007jap factory buildI spose.? I'll do some work on it once we stop celebrating. It is Xmas, after all,and what a great present eh!!All the best,I'll post progress in Jan 2021

Might pull the plugs and disconnect the electrics before turning into a slow moving two stroke pump, for a few minutes, hoping that clears it out,was in a dry garage ,and the exhaust was removed where it was sitting,so I'm hopeful that inside is ok.Are any Aussie members able to supply RHS engine covers?

It looks like it's a 2008 which is the first year of the gen 2 plenty of info and writeups for ideas of what direction you decide to go. As long as the frame is good and engine runs you could go with aftermarket fairings or build a naked busa and come out way ahead getting it that cheap. Either way I don't see you losing on the deal . Welcome to the forum and be sure to keep us updated and feel free to post up pics of your gsxr we live pics of bikes around here.

It’s definitely a 08 Gen 2 by the paint and the rear brake caliper setup above the swing arm, Gen 1 has a hanger with caliper under swing arm. The first year of the Gen 2, longer stroke, 41cc bigger and 20 something more hp.
Any technical info you need someone here will have it for sure... so much collective Busa knowledge and experience here, it’s like wow!!
You’ll need to check the fuel system, fuel pump and filter, injectors spray pattern etc after sitting so long.
Fun times ahead for you my old Aussie mate!
We have several different locations for street racing events, you would enjoy it for sure! Why don’t you come over here without your bike first off, and check it out?
I can help with accommodation and showing you around. Think it over, we may have open borders to Australia soon?
You may have heard about this event in the South Island?
Or maybe this one?
Or this?
Or...maybe this one??

Hey many thanks for your welcoming emails. You all sound like what I refer to,as Kindred Spirits.Ive been a fastboy since 1972,when I rebuilt my 1972 Yamaha RD350a with TR3racer internals and entered the Australian GP,as a ' freshman'speedster. I did my Mechanical Engineering thesis on the subject of Motorcycle tyre adhesion, and have had a long and mostly successful career going fast.(And falling off).I've built some wild bikes over the years ,and as a racer, always had tight purse strings, with all national race tracks between 450and 2300kms from home,it's been a saga just getting to the grid. Our OZ capacity limit for race bikes is one litre,so hayabusas have been left out.I ran a first model Gsxr 750 in our very first nationwide Superbike championships,in 1985,which was the first such championships in the world ,I think, and with the luck of a cowboy, rode to the track, and slithered around on road tyres, riding the wheels off it,only a pipe, and a dynojet carby kit set it apart from stock. So 35years later,it's great to get hold of such a weapon,so cheap. We had massive bushfires, one year ago today;lost my house, and several bikes, etc, following a drought that stretched 11years,so money has been tight lately, and to get this bike so cheap,is a great thing for me. You guys sound like you all love 1300suzis,and the weight of your combined enthusiasm makes me really look forward to riding the bike.Seasons Greetings to y'all, stateside, As we say in my area,LIVE TO RIDE, RIDE FREE ,n if you wanna go fast, just follow me!!I'll post some pics of the World's cheapest Hayabusa,in the start of2021,as soon as it fires up. Regards, from Paradise on the Mid Nth Coast Google Port Macquarie NSW Australia,-images,and you'll see where we are at!
